almost all IPO now overpriced or the price set is already the fair value....not much premium anymore , only little left ( 5 sen to 10 sen ) ,,,so there is a likelihood to loss even on the first day of trading ! Since now they ( the company ) , bankers , underwriters set the price and not like during 1993 - 2005 , the SC set@ determined the IPO issue price with the thick profit .
So no need to overjoy when you are allocated a mountain of MITI IPO,,,,it may kill you ( no guaranteed profit as 20 years ago ) !

Better buy in the open market 1 - 2 weeks after listing .

This is like buying completed property rather than buying nely launch project as lots of uncertainty initially

I'm investor..target for mid and long term..so far all my ipo make profit since I'm started with maxis..everyone have their own view..even last time when I said umw o&g can reach rm4..no one believe..same goes with westports..so in stock mkt..patience is important for us..just giving my opinion..i always have same view with lasallian..when late' self said hold westports...I sold half @ 2.89 n buyback 2.715..so in mkt..just be patience and will reward you with good profit..cheers..

bro ipo now different a lot from 10 - 20 years ago...
now the ipo price is set by the company itself not the SC @ security comission anymore ...that why .now almost all ipo are overpriced >> the most you get from ipo is peanut OR you may get stuck and loss liao !

Drwarrant..see which ipo u get bro..so far..maxis..petrochem..mmhe..msm..barmada..gasmsia..ihh..matrix concepts..westports..umwog..all give good profit . . i'm also working in local and foreign broker last time..i also loss a lot when economic crisis 1997..but I learn from my mistake now I'm fulltime investor..even astro also I make good profit but I didn't apply astro ipo..but I buy in open mkt..so up to u..not everyone can make profit..less then 10-20%..I learn n gain experience from my sifu tan Sri Chua ma yu..

Would you believe that Boustead Shareholders till now are in the dark about their entitlement of Boust Plantation shares. When IOI listed their prop section shareholders knew 8 months ahead their entitlement. 3 lots IOI: 1 lot Prop share I wonder whats the secret & why shareholders are kept in the dark????? To add furthur pain IOI GAVE their shareholders 1 lot of IOIpg FREE if you held 3 lots of IOI and you could pay rm1.79 .Quantum was 6 lots IOI: 1 lot IOIpg. In Boustead case, as a shareholder looks like I have to PAY rm1.60 for 1 lot Boustd Plant. Nothing given FREE. We Boustead shareholders are just like general public IPO. Only we are assured, but quantum still not know. Ptui.....
