But the volumes are humongous...need huge foreign firepower to move the stock price by even 1c now the hopeless local funds are in full retreat & retailers are impotent.
CGS CIMB, June 7, 2023 • Reiterate Add with a higher SOP-based TP of RM1.28 as we lift our FY23-25F EPS by 12-64% on better earnings for YTL Power and MCement. • YTL is an underappreciated cash-generating conglomerate with utilities, cement and construction as its medium-term growth engines. • Construction opportunities include MRT, industrial warehouses and HSR. We reiterate our Add rating on YTL and maintain it as one of our top picks. Given its strong 3QFY23 earnings driven by cement and utilities, we are raising our FY23F-FY23F EPS by 12-64% to factor in our revised earnings forecasts for YTL Power and MCement. In line with the increase in our earnings forecasts, we also lift our SOP-derived TP to RM1.28 from RM1.00 previously. This factors in i) Our higher TP of RM1.70 for YTL Power (vs. RM1.40 previously) ii) Our higher TP of RM5.08 for MCement (vs. RM3.97 previously) iii) Valuation of its construction business based on a sustainable orderbook of RM6bn and pretax margin of 5% for FY23F-26F which we think is fair given its current orderbook of RM3bn as at end- 3QFY23 and promising prospects for new orders from internal property projects, MRT 3 and other industrial warehouse projects. We used a FY25F P/E of 12x construction profits previously.
What’s the attraction of YTL? (1) Construction flows to pick up, HSR an added bonus (2) Cement business on a stronger footing (3) Data centres: another growth engine and housed under YTL Power
En Wahidul, EPF has seased to be a substantial share holder in both YTL and YTLPOWER. That means EPF has less than 5% shares left. The balance 5% shares left is still a lot. EPF still has more shares left in YTLPOWER as compared to YTL.
EPF wants to sell all shares in YTL and YTLPOWER. They need cash. According to one forumer, it will take around 80 days to still all shares. Got to wait until end of August.
The above is a very good link. It shows the company quarterly earnings so that we can compare YoY and QoQ. It also shows all the announcements made by the company (We can see how EPF heavily selling the YTL shares. When they are the substantial shareholder, they must report the number of shares they disposed. When the are no longer substantial shareholder, they don't have to announced. So, we don't know what EPF is doing). It also includes highlights/news about the company (e.g. by THE EDGE). Just change the code (last four digits) and you can see the same contents of other companies.
YTL bid is lowest in MRT3 above ground track, likely due to its low cost land holding via YTL land in sentul and in house supply chain building material concrete precast and cement.
Ytl bid is the lowest at RM 10.8billion, while IJM is second lowest at RM 11.8 billion.
But some may still think ijm may win due to experience its in MRT and MRT2, but YTL too have long experience in ERL and double track train which anchor it as previous HSR winner.
The most important is that gov wan MRT3 to cut total budget cost by RM 5 billon from RM 50 bilion to RM 45 billion.
Therefore, through YTL, gov at least able to save budget by RM 1 bilion or 20% of targeted cut cost of RM 5 bilion
This morning I thought both YTL and YTLPOWER will be green but instead they are in a sea of red together with their structured co-warrants. Fortunately the close at white/green.
Tonight 8.30 pm, USA CPI (inflation) reading will be released. They expect a 4.1 reading as compared to 4.9 the previous month. I am doubtful it can drop so much to 4.1. See how. Thursday (Malaysia time 2.30 morning), the Federal Reserve will announce to pause rate hikes or to raise another 25 basis point.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
