There is no refund for flight cancellation, instead is a credit account balance where one has to use it within a year.

In a statement, AirAsia boss Tony Fernandez said more than 80 percent of customers have accepted credit as an alternative.

"We truly appreciate this..."
Nonsense, do customers have the choice to get refund? Unless ministry involvement to require cash refund.

It is hard to comeby a Malaysian company being generous and have high regards on staff walfare. Stark contrast to Malindo and MAS, with MAS being the worst - where mgmt takes 10% cut and staffs asked to go for unpaid leave. I guess at MAS, everybody is just looking after their own backside...

When aa resumes business, most of the flights will be paid from credit accounts. This will hurt aa's cash flow.

imho, AA need funding badly to buffer through the period and until the public is confident to fly again...perhaps when cure/vaccine of covid is available.

Is AA the most competitive Airline and biggest coverage in Asia? If AA can't sustain, who else will sustain and take over AA's market in future? Mas? Malindo? Singapore Airline? Tiger? or ???
This time, all Airlines suffer at the same time, who will be the next giant after covid-19? or Flight will be replaced by other type of transportation soon? I believe the competitive strength, supply and demand...also how low JJ want to press the share price down, then push up with TP 100%....I would more interested to know if someone could share the support level and TP...let us fly together to reach our destiny...

Come on Airasia. You didn't provide any service as paid. Shall return your customers money without any question asked instead of keeping ppl money at this difficult time. Your customers need money to buy food and necessity as well. This bad move is really bad for the company's image. Shame on you Airasia.

It's not a big deal for the CEOs not receiving salary for few months. The money they earned from their customers enough for them to spend for few lifetimes. They should instead use their money to pay for their staffs instead of cutting their salaries and keeping customers money.

Posted by Michael Yeo > 2020-04-12 18:17 | Report Abuse

Telorkop lah my favorite airasia. When we booked, every sen were counted at your end . And now the refunds are merely credit in paper only. Shameless. Salary cuts? Redeem by selling your assets to sustain in this challenging times.

Expect at least 70% of the customers will lose their money after a year. It's very challenging to plan for any upcoming trip within this year. Airasia knows it very well. For goodness sake just return those money to people. Those money does not belong to you at the first place. Government should intervene such unethical conduct.

If cannot support, Airasia should get govt to bail out. Not keep customers money as own money. This is unacceptable.
