Yeah, but MIDF gave TopGlove a TP of 10.96 in December last year and guess what? It never reached 10.96, so they lowered it to 8.29 in January. Now the price is 6.00. So go figure whether you should take their TP with a grain of salt.

@newbie1111 You left out the named countries conveniently. Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Sudan, Egypt and Pakistan. Because they have extremely high covid positive rates.

It can be any number of reasons, perhaps they are under reporting or the ambassador is being overly cautious. The number of countries in the list can be reduced as well. Covid cases around the world have been decreasing rapidly. I think you are being too pessimistic considering the current trends.

US and malaysia market are operating under completely different situation. Leisure travel was never stopped in US. the airlines launch many new route for leisure travel. how many new route have AA launch since 2020?

also the vaccine timeline is also different, in malaysia the first phase until April will be vaccinating only 500k ppl.

In US the current daily rate is 1.6 million dose with 10 - 15 million weekly supply. by March the supply will be 20 million, 30 million in April. By July there would 4.5 million dose per day. so 300 millions american would be fully vaccinated by July.

if you consider the leisure travel market in malaysia, which age group is the largest customer? the second phase from April to August cover 9.4 of those that are over 60s or have medical condition.

all the young and healthy people age 18-59 that are the prime travel customer would only be vaccinated from May to Febuary next year.

The 500k figure assumes that Pfizer is the only vaccine approved by NPRA for the 1st quarter. Khairy mentioned in the podcast that the 500k figure will increase if Sinovac and Sputnik gains approval by NPRA since they will be coming extremely soon.

The idea that travel only starts when everyone is vacc is ludicrous as healthy people have 99.5% survival rate

Once vulnerable group are vacc, there is no reason for lockdown/domestic movement restriction per situation in US/UK though masking/social distancing will remain as precaution
