Frankly speaking the mkt today is very unusual. With or without Covid, the recession is inevitable though most predicted will happen after 2020 Olympics n US presidential election but Covid brought it forward. The bubble is swelling to unprecedented level. Share price run ahead of the real economy by a wide margin. Many companies esp. retailers, mall, energy, etc r shutting down for good or never regain its shape though many thought they'll recover to pre Covid after the pandemic is over. Sooner or later, investor will back to fundamental n major correction will take place. Brace for the impact, though that is unlikely will happen in Biden's first 100 days, probably 2H2021 but you'll never know.. Those stocks without good fundamental will plunge very deep while some will vanish in thin air. Tech stock may drop 70% to 80% borrowing from previous experience as that is seen as unnecessary expenses by most companies.

Aviation will take until 2024 to recover to pre covid level, this is not some random speculation. It is the forecast by IATA

Israel is basket case for Pfizer’s real-world effectiveness

Other vaccines also show comparable results in clinical trials as Pfizer..expect other vaccines to be succesful in real-life as well

How can "one shot vaccine 85% effective" be bad news? It means twice as much people can be vaccinated 1st, whilst 2nd shot can wait till most of the population has been given their 1st shot

i've moved quite a considerable amount of fund acquiring AA for the past months... its a forward looking move on a stock that is currently at its weak point (perfect accumulation point when it is priced-in cheap when people are in fear)... disposed all fund from Armada last week... as for AA traded some by selling at 0.975 and now acquiring back on a weighted average at 0.69 currently... currently AA is the only few still cheap stock that awaits to bull run at recovery... most of the stocks in Bursa is already overvalued and pushed too high... this AA stock, you can dare to hold till next 2 years... and you'll see your nett worth multiply by few folds... the branding itself will push the price beyond RM2.50 in at least 2 years from now and attracts many institutional fund and foreign fund interest... lets see...

When vaccination has covered the people who need to be covered, foreigners will be back. Aa will be busy flying again. Now is the time to collect. Aa is at the end of the tunnel. Will see light soon. Many still avoid aa cos of the -ve profit which is frighteningly huge >1billion in the last qtr. Revenue will come in as the passenger volume increases. This is very real as there are plenty of people who can afford to travel will be crossing boundaries to spend their monies. Cheers

AA will need 2 to 2.5bil of cash as reported to tide itself over this year.

hence a few more financing will be done later or sooner.

rights issue, PP etc

share price will continue to go down.

but the future looks bright if u have a long term view on AA

@thor85 How to give loan when they practically spend everything on share buybacks and dividends haha. TopGlove spent RM2.6b+ on share buybacks and RM2b+ on dividends which is practically all their net profits from the pandemic so far. That is the problem with their management, they don't know what to do with the money and they are not forward looking at all, just doing the same thing in and out.

Looking at their counter, it seems like most of their shareholders overlook how much they have spent on share buybacks and dividends.

One recovery stock I strongly advice against holding is AirAsia. If it wasn't for the new pandemic law, AirAsia by now is a PN17 company. It has more debt/liabilities than assets. In order to survive, they are taking even more debt, there will come a time where if they do make a profit, most of the profit will go towards servicing the debt, a zombie company.

If you are that bullish in gloves, then we will see. I am planning to hold onto AirAsia for a few years, longer if their digital business flourishes. We will see whether gloves will yield more returns in share price than AirAsia in the next few years. I am already up since I bought it at the low RM0.60s, you are probably making a loss unless you bought it at the dip in January.

AirAsia.
Borders are unlikely to open anytime soon. Can AirAsia last this long? Will lenders continue to lend AA money? Will Tony pump in his own money? Even if borders do open, it will take some time for things to go back to normal. Tourism is a bad recovery theme to invest in, We shall build our way out of this recession first.
