Put it this way loh...despite Philip desperation promotion of Pchem, Raider bet this Pchem stock is a so so investment cannot even beat speculative sapnrg if u bet 1 yr loh...!!

Don believe just mark raider words loh...today price Pchem Rm 9.19 v sapnrg rm 0.315 and check it over 1 yr on 4-3-2019 loh.....!!

Annnnnndddddd sapura sold 50% upstream... Then gives out 0.005c dividend that you only get to see in June. Why June? I really don't know, maybe because sapura got no money?

Lesson here is PCHEM is paying from a part of their growing profits, while sapura just cut off it's profitable leg and gives you a nail. Why give out a dividend if they owe so much?

“Both have visible catalysts with the PIC project expected to increase current capacity by 14 per cent for Petronas Chemicals, while the record high orderbook at RM8.3 billion will continue to drive Serba Dinamik’s earnings growth in 2019.

“We also like Velesto Energy Bhd on a 12-month basis, although investors may want to consider taking profits ahead of expected lacklustre 1Q19E results, but nevertheless we are still optimistic on its outlook with jack-up rig demand expected to double in 2019.

“The HuCC/MCM players are also a preferred exposure in the O&G space this year on the back of recovering work visibility – with potential beneficiaries including Carimin Petroleum Bhd, Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd, and Petra Energy Bhd.

Let's all not catch the falling knife and pick up only in may when the earnings come out. This is why I always only buy when the quarterly results come out. Most likely this will not affect earnings as still under construction and not operational. So no losses to PCHEM ( insured and still under construction), however there will definitely be a big delay and will miss September q4 earnings date.

As my daughter is so fond of those poster t shirts these days, "Keep calm and Carry on".

Buying opportunity arises.

Ok thank God, just called up my friends working there. Its from a leaking gas tank at the petrochemical (PIC) facility not the main refinery ( which would be catastrophic). Fire contained in 30 minutes, thank God no one died ( 2 injured). Luckily good ERT at 130 am still alert as it was still running monitoring for the testing and commissioning phase.

Is just like lately MLNG explosion as well.I will not call it as a falling knife if i were to collect more during today dip, as i believe Petronas is a known good operator especially in safety unlike China. Plus the dividend is solid, and any price dip is really a good catch.

Heard this affected package is only package 2 , main contractor is sinopec. Their earnings should be huge enough to cover the cost.

Yes the fire is cover by insurance loh....!!
But the accounting policy is to charge out whatever fire losses immediately and wait for the insurance claim loh...!!

This means u will see lower earnings for pchem for q2 30 june 2019 result loh....!!
Beside Pchem will also suffer from project delay too, which the operations will be affected by higher overheads and financial cost loh....!!

Since Pchem drop little bit...the best thing to do is sell 1st & talk later loh....!! Usually The 1st loss is normally the least mah...!!
U still can buy back later loh....!!

Do not buy now loh....!! It is not cheap yet loh...!!
Just wait for little bit of more visibility 1st mah....!!

JOHOR BARU, April 12 — An explosion and fire occurred at the Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s (Petronas) Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (Rapid) project in Pengerang here early this morning.

The shock of the 1.30am explosion was reportedly felt by residents of several nearby residential areas.

According to social media posts, the blast was also loud enough to be heard within a 50km radius of the project.

It is still unknown if anybody has been hurt in the incident.

Pictures and videos of the incident have been circulating online since 2am.

It was learnt that the explosion and subsequent fire were due to a leaking gas tank at the facility.
