YTLP won these 1 BestariNet project from MOE in 2012, worth RM 4.5bilion for entire 15 year contact (RM 300m/year). Under 1 bestariNet, YTLP require to set up wireless network with minimum speed 4Mbp in rural area and up to 10 Mbp in urban school and introducing virtual learning platform under patented Frog Asia + supply chromebook. So far, YTLP have completed networking in whole East Msia, about 7000 schools end of last year, and just recently complyed networking for entire Sabah, about another 1100 school last month. YTLP currently in the midst to set up networking in Sarawak for another 2000 school.

YTLP should start recognizing earning these year derive from licensing fees, management, maintenance and operation fees for entire East Malaysia first (7000 schools), follow by adding Sabah (7000 + 1100) and finally adding Sarawak later, boosting whole entire 10,000 nationwide schools, emerging YTLP not only as major broadband but also as e-learning player, serving more than 10 million student/teacher and parents nationwide.

YTLP will only start introducing 4g LTE second half of these year, as it is concentrate to complete 1BestariNet mainly in Sarawak first. Its current 4g Wimax is more than sufficient to meet 1Bestarinet requirement to hold speed 4mbp, therefore, upcoming 4g LTE will introducing parallel with exiting 4gWimax to suit high end user. As YTLP 4gWimax network is IP flat protocol, adding LTE (TD-LTE) to its exiting Wimax transmission tower is easy as adding channel cards. The capex for 4g Wimax so far is about RM 3 billion, and adding LTE require another RM 1 billion only as both share common transmission tower.

The Capex for 4gWimax already reflected in YTLP balance sheet show in its assets and liabilities, but as these broadband division still incur loss up to Q2 2014, the profit have yet to recognize. However, upcoming Q3 result could better reflect its earning potential as should start recognizing 1BestariNet project (East Msia completed 7000 school) + retail Yes subscriber continue growing to exceed 1 million mark (compared to 700k subcriber end of last year)
