if privatization happen YTL shareholder will be biggest winner, thats why i pick YTL. They may offer high price to purchase enough voting power, but surely wont going to eat all with price more than Rm2. Believe or not, wait and see. Anyway, i guess not gonna happen so soon. 2 more years maybe.

Rm 2.3 - Rm 2.5 will be a good takeover price, i dont think anyone can endure 5 more years without any dividend ( ytlpower need the cash for Project 3B )

the cashflow from the 3B electricity plant only will flow in after 2018, if the takeover price above Rm 2.3, i think most shareholders will take it and cash out.

In June qtr their mobile network revenue is RM107.7mil and losses of RM76.2mil. This qtr revenue is RM217.8mil and losses of RM49.7mil. If they could double up the revenue in the next qtr, it could goes into profit. Hope they're working hard on it.

If they win project 3B... sure will issue more long term bonds... cash will remain for other acquisition... they still can distribute dividend with the net profit...

immogi, yes they are working very hard on it. news paper, internet i can see lot of their advertisement. shopping center, yes coverage keep on increasing. Even kampung also got line now. But on the other had, their competitors are maxis, digi and many more big big sharks which already been well developed. Penetrating into the market is very hard and time consuming.

potential is there, if no privatization until 2018 , ytlpower probably can easily go up till RM 3 - RM 4 and good dividend after 2018, but can you wait 5 more years ah? if they announce to privatize with 2.4-2.5 price in the next 2-3 months, i think most will find it very hard to resist.

KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Equities Research is maintaining its sum-of-parts based target price for YTL Power International at RM2.55, which is 31.3% above its current price of RM1.94.

“We retain our Outperform call on YTL Power. The re-rating catalyst is the 2GW coal-fired power plant tender, which is expected to be awarded to YTL by 1QCY14 (first quarter of 2014),” it said on Friday.

CIMB Research said YTL Power's annualised first quarter ended Sept 30, 2013 (1QFY06/14) net profit missed its estimate, accounting for 79% of its full-year forecast.

“1QFY14 earnings were dragged down by the continued losses of the mobile broadband division and forex losses,” it said.

It cut the FY14-15 EPS by 3%-10% as it lowered earnings estimates for the mobile broadband division.

YTL Power’s 1QFY14 revenue declined by 4.7% on-year due to the 12.9% on-year decrease in the revenue of its multi-utilities division caused by the lower units of electricity sold.

CIMB Research said the company’s pretax profit fell by 7.1% on-year in 1QFY14 due to the weaker revenue and forex translation losses. However, 1QFY14 core net profit only declined by 5.4% yoy due to the lower effective tax rate resulting from the corporate tax rate reduction in the UK and tax refunds.

“The revenue of YTL Power's mobile broadband division more than doubled to RM217.8mil in 1QFY14 from RM101.7mil in 1QFY13. Its losses at the pretax profit level narrowed to RM49.8mil in 1QFY14 from RM60.7mil in 1QFY13.

“Although the revenue growth is encouraging, we think that there is a risk that the division may not break even in FY14 due to the industry’s challenging operating environment,” pointed out the research house.

YTLP current power plant can sell the power to tenaga until end of 2017... if they can win the project 3B... which can be announced anytime from early December when EC start having meeting for the biddings... The new power plant can be completed before 2018 and able to start selling electricity in early 2018...

This is a perfect timing for YTLP...
