Minister responsible for undistributed food aid, not overworked welfare officers: Yeoh

It is the minister who is responsible for the undistributed food aid and not overworked Welfare Department officers, said Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh. In a post on her Twitter account last night, the former women, family and community development deputy minister said that the chaos in implementing the distribution of food aid is due to political instructions from the top. “Do not blame the Welfare Department officers. Many of them are overworked. This happens when political instructions are given by top leadership resulting in chaos in implementation. “It is not the fault of @JKMHQ. That’s why we hold the minister responsible,” she said, without mentioning which minister she was referring to. Attached to her Twitter post is a Malaysiakini article dated April 23 in regard to Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai expressing outrage that over 700 government-sponsored Covid-19 food packs were found still sitting in the Bandar Tun Razak Sports Complex in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. This was despite Tan having earlier expressed concern that the food packs were left undistributed on April 19, and that the authorities had not given him the green light to distribute the food aid to his constituents. Tan claimed that there were double standards in the permission given to MPs to distribute the aid, noting how Bandar Tun Razak MP Kamaruddin Jaffar, who is a member of the ruling coalition, had obtained approval from the Welfare Department to distribute food packs. He also refuted a claim by Women Family and Community Development Minister Rina Harun that nobody is sidelined in terms of aid distribution during the movement control order (MCO) period.

The seller collected his money, the middleman collected his share, the politician collected his commission.....who cares about the undistributed food and the poor and hungry people?

Posted by Umbrella Corp > 2020-04-24 14:56 | Report Abuse

Very true Printing U.S Dollar Dollar Dollar ! That is how the BN and now the PN system works.

Posted by YoungTycoonWILL > 2020-04-24 14:58 | Report Abuse

Give you an answer Printing U.S Dollar Dollar Dollar!

A food pack delivered is worth 100 packs lying in the community hall
Though it is rent free
Yet to be distributed
What are the reasons
1) Santhara is still keeping the address as confidential
2} youngest MP was not given the cooperation
3) Rina and team find it hard and not politically motivated
To deliver to opposition areas
4} some packs may be missing , mis-allocated or stolen or swapped for money
5 ) as donors how would you feel would be donate again
6) recipients are hungry without food drinks for days

This backdoor PN minister Rina Harun and traitor should be responsible for the undistributed food aids. This corrupt DEDAK s.u.c.ker and traitor will deny, deflect and blame all her overworked welfare officers and workers for all the problems.
Anyway WE Malaysians already know all backdoor PN ministers and leaders are experts in denying, deflecting and blaming others if any problems occurred.

Posted by YoungTycoonWILL > 2020-04-24 15:01 | Report Abuse

By the way, Rina harun and the band of 40 thieves should get it through their thick skull - it’s not about who distributes in order to score political points. It’s about making sure that the food gets to the intended recipients through all means possible. The money did not come from their own pockets - it’s rakyat’s money after all

YoungTycoonWILL ,When you hv monkeys up there all they see are "bananas & peanuts" (rezeki) to scavenge. Rina Harun & followers : How much hv you all made in this fist episode. Curse of Rakyat wld precede eventually. Wait for GE 15.

Posted by Umbrella Corp > 2020-04-24 15:03 | Report Abuse

Yeah YoungTycoonWILL, Let these backdoor traitors keep messing up further, their days in power are numbered! Period!

Posted by 靓女 phoon phoon > 2020-04-24 15:04 | Report Abuse

Feeding or distributing food aid to the poor and deserving is not just humane but Godly act. Knowingly and intentionally stalling or depriving it can only be done by Satanic personality who cannot feel for the hungry and marginalised.

As a Minister, it Rina's responsibility to ensure the distribution reach the allocated centres.

What does it matter to her who the YB is for a particular distribution centre. This is depraved thinking.

This woman is proving to be a disaster for the new government, when it is a given opportunity to make a lasting and caring impression among the rakyat.

It appears the government is in discord with the PM and Senior Ministers, having no control over the other Ministers.

The same old attitude is back. Taxpayers' money that were collected belongs PN political parties. They will decide who to give or not to give. They even pocketed taxpayers' money in their custody.

Posted by NancyDrewWhite > 2020-04-24 15:07 | Report Abuse

Bravo to the former WFCDM, Hannah Yeoh who continues to raise the issue which follows the case closely. Please continue to highlight this case.

Rina Harun, we hope you are not sleeping on your job. We have enough of Doraemon women in our midst. If you and your ministry are unable to do the basic job such the distribution of the food, be humble and ask more productive Hannah Yeoh for her help. Surely, with the proven track record, Hannah Yeoh could be trusted to speed up the work expediently.

calling meetings with without opposition parties, etc. I guess during these trying times they should rise to the occasion, unfortunately they choose to stoop lower. Maybe that is how they were bought up.
I wanted to subscribe to The Star newspaper but decided not too. Not a single news from them about this matter, how can chief editor sit back at keep quiet when people are being oppress. The reporter should report what they see...

one day they will end up like utusan. At least the edge got balls to expose 1MDB. If this was CNN, they would have roasted the minister already.

HY very protective of Civil Servants . Enough of civil servants hiding behind politicians . They are paid to perform and not to serve politicians , when they chose. Rakyat’s expectations changing. HY still expects low productivity from civil service.

PETALING JAYA: The popular PJ Old Town wet market in Jalan Othman here has been temporarily closed after a 51-year old trader was reportedly infected with Covid-19 on April 25.

This is the second market in Petaling Jaya to shut down its operations after the Taman Megah market, due to the Covid-19 cases reported at both places.

Petaling District Disaster Management Committee chairman Johary Abdul urged all traders at the Jalan Othman market to undergo medical check-ups at the market this Wednesday (April 29).

He said he was informed yesterday of the 51-year-old trader’s test results and believes he is part of the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market Covid-19 cluster, as the trader went there too.

Johary said it will be closed for approximately five days starting today for screening and sanitisation works by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).

Johary said screening sessions for the Jalan Othman wet market will be held on Wednesday (April 29) at 9am and priority is for traders involved and it is compulsory for them to get tested.

For Taman Megah market, the screening will be conducted tomorrow (April 28) at 9am.

He also encouraged members of the public who had contact with any of the traders to go for medical check-ups at nearby clinics.
