This supposed to be a quality property and construction counter. But, i am very surprised Sunway call a Right Issue. Of course, right issue is a taboo in stock market.

Price will surely drop after right issue due to share dilution as they are issuing new shares in exchange for cash from investors. EPS will drop proportionately. I read that the price will be around $2.40 a share after the exercise.

Rights issue is a taboo for short term investors ;-)

I think malaysia company, especially the one with high government link status are jeopordising the right issue exercise, instead of performing better internal generate funds and bank borrowing. In addition, i never see any company would cancel the shares after share buyback, which is very bad.

Miketyu, today is rights issue ex-date 1 for 3, so the price is adjusted. That's why the sudden drop..

don't hav reits but they give out 90% of profit and sunway does own big part of sunreit so steady income but we wan big income fast from sales and big launch not steady and slow income. I hav similar mix but u sound like very experienced investor U think Selangor water deal sure good or too politics? I hav khsb waiting for $$ come u think which water co will profit most?

monday deadline to sell the rights via cds account. 25 july deadline to use rights to buy 1.70 shares by using form. thats what i make of this. will be asking my partner over the weekend of next course of action :)
