JCY only supply the casing. The most important component is a logic board that controls the operation of the HDD. An SSD components are a controller which performs a role similar to the CPU in a PC as cache memory, NAND flash for data storage and DRAM which links between the SSD and the external devises. It is impossible for local players to produce and to assemble the above parts. Our country data centres have to import the HDD and SSD from SEAGATE, WESTERN DIGITAL or TOSHIBA. But for super servers, the supplier will send them to SNS NETWORK. After that SNS will fixed them in each data centre [with after sales service (maintanance)]. The project — known as Block 2 of the Iskandar Puteri Data Centre — was secured from TM Technology Services Sdn Bhd via its wholly owned IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, IJM said in a statement on Wednesday. "Construction of the data centre will begin in July 2024 and is slated for completion by the third quarter of 2025," said IJM. The data centre aims to achieve Tier III certification under the Uptime Institute's Tier Classification System, which is the international standard for data centre performance. A Tier III certification means the data centre's maintenance can be done without downtime due to its redundant systems. “The data centre sector is rapidly expanding, driven by the exponential growth of cloud computing and the need for robust, scalable infrastructure. Our involvement in the data centre construction market signifies our commitment to innovation and adaptability in meeting the needs of high-tech industries," said IJM group chief executive officer and managing director Lee Chun Fai. "This data centre project is a strategic milestone for IJM Construction, diversifying our portfolio and enhancing our capabilities in high-tech construction,” Lee added. The group expects this expansion to provide significant growth potential for IJM Construction. This latest contract, combined with the RM962 million worth of jobs that IJM secured last week for a logistics hub in Shah Alam and a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Penang, have boosted IJM construction’s order book to RM7.3 billion. "By leveraging its internal supply chain capabilities, including spun piles and industrialised building systems from IJM’s industry division, the group is well-positioned to capitalise on these opportunities. According to report, each year we import about 2000 metric ton on HRC and that is equivalent to RM 6 billion. Assuming ES can capture 50% of the market share with their new HRC mill, it is about RM 3billion. I'm not sure what is the current HRC price now but 2 years ago, HTVB MD did share the projection of production cost and estimated selling price and at that time he was saying with the new blast furnace and the power plant, their production cost as low as RM 2000 while HRC can be sold around 2750. I believed this has not include administration cost. For my own simple estimation, conservatively, if the PAT is around 20%, that will gives about RM 600 million. HTVB shares in ES is 27.5% = RM 165 mil per annum which is about EPS of 10c per year. Hence, i would assume an EPS of 13c to 15c from Hiaptek and ES. If they established a 30% dividend policy, that will gives about 4c. Currently highway concessionaires mainly use the excuse that the MLFF operator has no prior experience in toll collection, that is a lame excuse.
