Airasia with the same par value as MAS but Airasia's share price is almost 10 times the share price of MAS....A lot of room for MAS to play catch up :)
Allerton said the main issue appeared to have been the lack of reaction on the ground. "If this had happened in Europe or North America within a few tens of minutes people would have worked out there was something very strange going on, and they would have done something, for example scramble aircraft. If you lose communication with an aircraft, and certainly if you lose its transponder returns, you assume something quite bad has happened. It doesn't seem to me that the Malaysian authorities were very responsive to what was happening in their airspace. When you ask: 'How could this happen?', if the air traffic controllers haven't been monitoring things very closely then it would be seven hours before somebody realised it hadn't got there."
----Someones head needs to roll over this..
Chinese Internet users have increasingly criticised the official news agency Xinhua, state broadcaster CCTV and other outlets for failing to produce the kinds of scoops that non-Chinese media have in the 11 days since MH370's disappearance.
"Judging from this incident, it's still the western media that are the most responsible and reliable at reporting the news," wrote one user of Sina Weibo, a Chinese version of Twitter.
"Meanwhile, Malaysia and China have only exposed their irresponsible bureaucracy, their mistake-riddled news reports, and a state-run press corps that just jumps on the bandwagon and reprints others' articles."
Anwar Ibrahim admits that he is related to MH370 pilot Captain Zaharie, but asks that the media and authorities do not attack the pilot's reputation without proof. He says taxi drivers are PKR supporters too, but he doesn't see a taxi hijack to Kajang: http://bit.ly/1d9jWKI
Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has asked the media and the authorities not to “cast aspersions” on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 pilot Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah without concluding investigations in the first place, insisting that the experienced pilot was a “good family man”.
Now the BN cronie can have more reason to blame the disappearing plane on anwar & PKR .. Maybe later after search at the pilot house they can produce a tape "Kes liwat 3"..
While overlooking their weakness ,Eg the radar reading wasn't checked etc U can imagine that if a plane can just fly around without being detected , the safety of our nation maybe in jeopardy (imagine the "hijackers" flew the plane to KL)
Hahahaha .....France took 2 years to find the black box......and Hishamuddin says answer will be available only when they find the blackbox......maybe not......
Furious Chinese families threatened to go on a hunger strike today until the Malaysian government tells them the truth about the fate of their relatives aboard a Malaysia Airlines flight which went missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Whoever reached across the dimly lit cockpit of a Malaysia Airlines (MAS) jet and clicked off a transponder to make flight MH370 vanish from controllers' radars flew the plane into a navigational and technical black hole.
The failure of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) to defend its own pilots is disgraceful. The reputations of MH370 Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah and co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid are being dragged through the mud, but MAS cannot or will not come to their defence. Why?
MAS pilots are professionals and have gone through rigorous selection, training and regular evaluation. The pilots’ political beliefs have no bearing on their professionalism.
So, when Najib’s administration made Zaharie a scapegoat, and the MAS CEO failed to support his pilots, the confidence of MAS employees, potential investors and airline customers was severely shaken.
There was no evidence against Zaharie. The authorities were grasping at straws. They used recycled theories, gleaned from various sources, to hurl accusations at the pilots.
Despite this, MAS did not issue any statement to contradict the views of the authorities. If the Malaysian government thinks nothing is damaged, then they are even more stupid than is thought capable. Every MAS employee probably believes that MAS refuses to protect loyal staff and is quite prepared to dump them when things get turbulent. MAS have failed the families of Zaharie and Fariq.
I just got internal news that may shock us all. MH370 already spotted by US and Australian SAR teams. Preparation underway for rescue teams only waiting for permission to be granted by this country where the plane landed. But from intel, expect worst case. :(
Seriously this is the most logical explanation for the disappearance of MH370, theoretically its very sound and written by a pilot with 20 years experiences. It even explains why all the other assumptions do not correlate
Thomasleem, are you sure your internal news is reliable? Please don't play play with the grief of families involved by posting hearsay. That's the least we laymen can do.
Bomoh1..the article make sense with technical theory to support the writter's view. Malaysians need to support each other and put aside their political thinking. We are dealing with an international issues here.
There have been many theories and hypothesis around missing MH370, but one serious mistake and blunder by Malaysia Air Force was the military failure to act on its radar detection on an UFO (unidentified flying object) now confirmed as MH370.
Instead of admitting to this blunder, the authorities - including the minister and the Air Force chief - chose to go round the bush to find excuse such as the need to analyse the data.
It was such an attitude that have been cultivated over many years governing Malaysia. The present batch of BN nincompoop ministers have totally put the country in shame over this incident.
It looks like the country has been constantly evolving from being Bolehland to Bomohland to Slumberland to Blunderland. What next?
Sympathy for the MH370 tragedy has given way to anger at the officials who are so inept in managing the crisis: far too many flip-flops, U-turns and about-turns.
Had all this happened in Japan, the officials would have committed ‘harakiri’ by now.
Is this not typical of an arrogant and deceitful government? Many overseas countries have been commenting about the poor response to the entire MH370 search process. The lack of intelligent comment and disjointed handling is typical of a dictatorial government which have ruled uninterrupted for 50 years. In such situations, they are not used to be answerable to anyone except themselves.
Through the international dimension of this tragedy, the shortcomings of their rule are being exposed under the full glare of the global media and I'm afraid they are found wanting.
Residents on the remote island of Kudahuvadhoo in the Maldives have reported seeing a "low-flying jumbo jet" on the day Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 went missing.
The sighting took place at 6.15am, almost five hours after MH370 lost all communications at 1.30am, reported Maldives' longest serving newspaper Haveeru.
Eyewitnesses described the aircraft as having "red stripes" and was travelling North to South-East towards Addu City, the southern tip of the island country.
"I've never seen a jet flying so low over our island before. We've seen seaplanes, but I'm sure that this was not one of those.
"I could even make out the doors on the plane clearly," an eyewitness was quoted as saying.
The eyewitness added that the aircraft made a loud noise, prompting several residents to come out of their houses.
