nope, Batu fall into hand of BN, there are remaining 3 candidates, 1 BN, 2 independents, that means a winnable seat had fallen into the hand of BN without contesting and knowing the risk, PKR still fielded him. I really don't know what to say. This is very demoralizing. I think this could be a sign Harapan can't win this election. Really a fool, knowing there's risk still field Tian Chua.

PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was shocked when she was told by reporters that PKR vice-president Tian Chua has been disqualified from contesting in the parliamentary seat of Batu for the 14th general election.

Returning officer Anwar Mohd Zain made the decision based on a March 2 Shah Alam High Court ruling which fined Tian Chua RM2,000 for insulting the modesty of a police officer.

The decision was at odds with the 13th general election when the returning officer then allowed Tian Chua to contest in Batu despite a separate conviction where Tian Chua was also fined RM2,000.

well, i been thinking, yeah, batu seat is lost, but remember one thing, if providence willed harapan will win, even if losing that 1 seat, they will still win. If providence willed that harapan lose, even if you win that 1 seat, you will still lose. Everything been decided, so dont despair, is just a matter of what is willed by providence.

Inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun has denied claims that his men had attempted to prevent PKR's candidate for the Rantau state seat in Negeri Sembilan from filing his nomination papers this morning.

JELI: PKR’s hopes of contesting the Kuala Balah state seat were dashed when its candidate Dr Hafidz Rizal Amran’s application was rejected by the Election Commission (EC) today.

This came following the official announcement by Returning Officer Zulkifli Abdul Rahman at 11.20am.

PKR’s Azran Deraman, who is contesting the Jeli parliamentary seat, refused to comment on the matter when met by reporters.

Efforts to contact Dr Hafidz proved futile as he had left the nomination centre at about 10.10am.

Following the rejection of his application, the Kuala Balah seat will now see a straight fight between Pas candidate Mohd Apandi Mohamad and Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Abdul Aziz Derashid. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
