...... @1.27 diehards keep telling n reminding market is forward looking...... the rest is history..... to be precise almost 40% down..... whether it's going to be 4.50 is another story but as of now market is forward looking is not always true, otherwise there won't be losers in stock market...
KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 5): AirAsia Group Bhd has received US$56.83 million (RM239.98 million) in gross proceeds from the merger between Fly Leasing Ltd and Carlyle Aviation Partners.
We have already raised RM336.5 million from two tranches of private placements earlier this year and continue to renegotiate leasing terms with all of our lessors. We have also disposed of 32.67% of our interest in AirAsia India, amounting to US$37.68 million (RM152.64 million), ceased operations in Japan and sold a number of spare engines amounting to over US$130 million," said AirAsia group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes
There are a number of other fundraising initiatives in place to ensure sufficient liquidity for the group, which are progressing well, he said, adding that the group is in the process of finalising a Danajamin PRIHATIN Guarantee Scheme loan, working on a data-backed loan of up to US$350 million, and preparing for a rights issue of up to RM1.02 billion.
This is what happen when you have huge negative cash flow from operation/cash burn. Need to raise cash by selling assets, spare engines, Cash call PP, RI and begging for government support Danajamin PRIHATIN Guarantee Scheme loan just to stay afloat without it AA will sure go bankrupt.
Airlines in Philippines seek extension on airport fees waiver Author: Tan KW Publish date: Thu, 5 Aug 2021, 4:20 PM
MANILA : AirAsia Philippines chief executive officer Ricardo Isla said they were preparing to ask the government to extend the waiver on airport fees and office rentals as the aviation sector’s recovery had stalled due to the contagious Delta variant.
Isla, who also represents the country’s major airlines as chair of the Air Carriers Association of the Philippines, said they would make the request to the relevant government agencies in a meeting next week.
“That alone would be a big help to the airline companies,” Isla told reporters during an AirAsia Philippines briefing on Wednesday.
Local carriers were forced to stop accepting passengers traveling for leisure purposes until Aug. 20 after the government ordered stricter quarantine rules in Metro Manila and key hubs around the country due to rising Covid-19 infections.
Isla said AirAsia Philippines alone had cancelled about 40 per cent of its flights during this period, hurting ongoing efforts to generate revenue.
“If not for Delta, we could have implemented four roundtrips a day to Boracay,” Isla said.
The reduction of regulatory fees, alongside efforts to boost cargo revenues, would help them weather the loss of crucial passenger traffic, he explained.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines earlier waived fees for flights and parking under the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act, which expired in end-June.
AirAsia Philippines is also taking a more cautious approach to reopening hubs and Isla said they wanted to see more widespread vaccinations against Covid-19.
AirAsia Philippines said about 70 per cent of its employees were inoculated against Covid-19 and the budget carrier was targeting to fully vaccinate its workforce by the end of the year, AirAsia Philippines spokesperson Steve Dailisan said.
This was also meant to ease concerns of travellers with about 90 per cent of passengers agreeing that a fully vaccinated flight crew would boost their confidence in flying, according to an AirAsia Philippines survey conducted last month.
“We are very pleased that our efforts of inoculating the whole AirAsia Philippines organisation has gained the confidence among guests to travel again,” Dailisan said.
He also explained the carrier was currently developing a mobile app that would act as a vaccine passport. This would also help with Covid-19 testing verification given the proliferation of fake reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test results, Dailisan said.
If AA can not survive, then which other airlines in the similar sector can survive? Those airlines that cater mainly to leisure and holiday travels will do very well due to pent up demand, less competitions and cheaper operating cost. Biz travels will recover slower as many biz can continue to be transacted on line and hence those airlines that cater to premium/biz will be slower to recover and may not even reach to the levels pre pandemic.
Yes. Just ignore the LOSERS. Based on all the factual indicators, AA should be "soaring soon. Let them talk song sendiri. All the results worldwide showed that vaccinated ppl are only showing no symptoms or mild symptoms.Yes. they can still transmit the virus to anyone . Vaccinated or unvaccinated ppl. That's all.
Those that say MAS alone is sufficient to serve Malaysia clearly are too young to experience the days when MAS had monopoly. Putting it in context, are you willing to pay RM700 from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur return? That happened 20 years ago. AirAsia truly live up to their catch phrase "now everyone can fly". AA changed aviation industry in Malaysia completely IMO.
AirAsia is certainly not out of the woods yet. What are the chances AA survives covid-19? Only God knows. But nothing in stock investment is 100% sure. You got to think about the risk-reward. Just my 2cents
Airasia services Asia. Looking at the vaccination rates/numbers in Airasia's primary routes ie. India, China, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam etc, Airasia has a long way for recovery as they will hardly survive with domestic travel. Airasia needs "Asia" as a whole to recover. Please look at our neighbouring countries, their vaccination rates/numbers and their lockdowns. Having a green bubble with Singapore or another small country is not going to turn its books to green. Invest with a 3 year horizon at minimum.
What most important you must honestly have faith and belief in yourself, of course must be based on rationality not emotion, wish or worst frustrations and negative emotions.
TF is just working hard to maximize the LTIS (free) shares to be issued.
"The Company will not receive any proceeds pursuant to the issuance of new AAGB Shares to the grantees of the SGS, as such grantees will not be required to pay for the new AAGB Shares to be issued to them under the SGS".
And it will be issued after the RCUIDs exercise.
Supporters just need to buy the LTIS shares at 0.75 and TF will gain between RM368.8M to RM409.5M just be exercising the LTIS and dumping those shares in the market.
That's what TF meant by 'not wasting a crisis'.
Maximum Subscription Max LTIS Proceeds Profit: 10% x 5.46B x 0.75 = RM409.5M
Minimum Subscription Max LTIS Proceeds Profit: 10% x 4.917 x 0.75 = RM368.8M = RM368.8M profit for TF & Co.
trum Tony said Don’t Worry. Have faith in AA management. And you all must believe in AA management who works hard 24/7. 06/08/2021 11:34 AM
Everything going fine. This month end to next month sure AA price will drop a bit, but is ok AA confirmed will survive.
Covid is not the most big issue for AA, but what government announce that is the most important thing. Now 20k case, do you think government going to announce allow cross state and airflight for those vaccinated 2nd dose? (my answer is not the right time) And now government still fighting for the Prime minister position...... Moreover month end going announce new report (no ghost, so sure result bad) . But don't worry no 1 will care about it, but confirm price will drop and bounce back.
So don't worry, maybe now AA need to face many issues. But who care? We know AA will survive and grow more bigger after maybe 7-10 years (because in future we know AA will not only depend on airline industry (of course i know AA already started other business, just that need time to grow big big) )
Multi-laterral thinking my friend, no one knows the future. No matter how positive you are of the future of AirAsia, there is always a slight chance that covid will lock us down for the next few years. What is gonna happen then?
All I am saying is prepare for multiple outcomes, know the risk, be a smart investor
As for me, worldwide results show that the covid epidemic is coming to an end. Those who have been vaccinated are ok. Yes. The covid virus can still stay at the nostril and transmit but they only hv no or mild symptoms. Once the virus enter the blood stream of the vaccinated person, they will be deactivated and destroyed. This explained why the vaccinated only hv no or mild symptoms.
All the countries will ramp up the vaccination process like malaysia. Another one or two months we should be achieved herd immunity in malaysia . Sarawak will achieved it at the middle of this month.
All governments in the world will have to open their economy as the citizen need to work and survive. Give them 3 months the most, everything will be back to normal. This covid epidermic shall pass as another flu . No big deal .
And yes, hopefully AA still there after all this pandemic ends.
Everyone want to fly

This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
