@Alex Chua, thanks for the link. The news article says Jordan gets 7% of its gas supply from the Tamar gas field which is now shut, and the bulk of its gas supply from the Leviathan gas field, according to Wood Mackenzie.

However, a prolonged shutdown of Tamar gas field could prompt Israel to divert the Jordan-bound gas produced at Leviathan gas field to the domestic market.

We need to see if a prolonged shotdown of Tamar gas field will happen in next few weeks, but for now the disruption to Jordan gas supply is already there, 7% lower gas supply means almost 10% gas-fired power generation in Jordan is out now.

When a big transaction is done through the screen terminal, the likely buyer is the foreign fund because the foreign fund wants transparency in the above transaction.
Local fund may consider to do a married deal (off market transaction).

The main objective of this forum is to share information and to make money together.
dragon328 has showed a very good example to us, I really appreciate his effort and good reports.
This forum is definitely not to be used to attack any person.

Using TA alone without using FA will not work well in KLSE.
A stock without good fundamental, the share price will not move up north to break new high.
The value of the share is supported by good earning and growth, forget about the stock if the earning is not good and there is no growth in earning in the future.

A stock is very good in fundamental, the share price will drop to new low, I think we should not believe this person who argue in this manner.
Definitely he is a loser in the stock market and I believe this person lost all his wealth in the stock market.
Invest in good growth stock will make you a winner in KLSE.

The share price of YTLpower breaks 2.01, 2.06, 2.07 and reach the high at 2.09 today is a good sign now.
The share price moving up slowly and steadily.

The following events will enhance the future share price of YTLPower.
1. YTLPower might be added to FBMKLCI component stocks in December's review. Presently, YTLPower ranks no 23-26.
2. Good Q1 Sep 2024 result releases in November 2023. I believe the result is definitely better than Q1 Sep 2023 result. All analysts will upgrade the target price of YTLPower.
3. Tan Sri Francis Yeoh promised to give out a dividend of 15 sen for FY2024.
4. The target price set by HLIB in 2023 is 2.90, I believe it is achievable.
5. I believe foreign funds are net buyer on this stock. Very good news.

At a reasonable 8x P/E, market cap would be around 21bn, compared to 16.5bn today, around 30% upside for 6 months hold period.

I'll buy and hold for 6 months at least, see you again in 6 months.

The reason why I'm buying this stock is because I'm based in Singapore and can feel the electricity prices doubled over the past 2 years. In Singapore, consumers usually can choose 6 months lock in, 12 months lock in or 24 months lock in prices for electricity price. Why is it so important to understand this? Reason is because over the past 2 years, electricity prices have doubled and more and more people who locked in cheap prices in the earlier years of Covid now have no choice to recontract at the higher rate (myself included), and see their electricity bill doubled. Players like PowerSeraya (and their retail arm Geneco) have locked in cheap gas input prices will start to enjoy fat, obscene margin because their cost is fixed, but revenue has doubled. This situation is likely to persist for the next few years (HLIB report) and Power Seraya will continue to make huge profits, which will be reflected in the next 2 quarters report and I expect their PAT to go up to MYR2.6bn or more (assuming a conservative 500m PAT for next 2 quarters, it's likely to be more than that), which is at least a 30% upside to today's price.

I entered at 2.02 yesterday, in hindsight should have waited to enter at the low point of 1.98 today, but usually it's really hard to time the market low point and I have to say I do not have such skill. But what I have is a pair of diamond hands to hold a stock for 6-12 months that will show stellar results in the next few quarters and the share price will follow. I used to day trade a lot, but I have come to realize that the only way to make obscene profit is really to buy and hold on good fundamentals stocks with solid growth potential.

Also reckon what you said above, as what I have been advocating, the only way to make good profit is to buy and hold on good fundamental stocks with solid growth potential. I would add to that: the company must have good management and strong operating cashflows.

@dragon328, do you think this quarter YTLP result will be better than last quarter of RM 1.1b? I am thinking if this quarter result say drop 10% vs last quarter, then YTLP share price may have some short term volatility even we know for sure it is going to better than last year.

Singapore household electricity, gas bills to rise as tariffs go up in Q4

HOUSEHOLD electricity and gas bills are set to rise in the fourth quarter of 2023, following an increase in tariffs announced by state energy suppliers on Friday (Sep 29).

From Oct 1 to Dec 31, the electricity tariff before the 8 per cent goods and services tax (GST) will go up by an average of 3.7 per cent or 0.98 Singapore cent per kilowatt-hour (KWh) from the previous quarter. This means the electricity tariff before GST will increase to 28.7 cents per KWh from 27.74 cents.

For families residing in Housing and Development Board four-room flats, the average monthly electricity bill will rise by S$3.57 or 3.5 per cent before GST.

@ValueInvestor888, I expect good results for this Q1 FY2024 but do not think it will be better than last quarter Q4 FY2023 (RM1.1 billion) which saw some extraordinary profits in PowerSeraya from long generation into spiking wholesale market and Jordan power from pent-up construction profits.

But it will nonetheless a good set of results, I hope, where we will see the "normalised" profits without the 2 extraordinary items above.

Also I hope to see some small profit from Wessex Waters absence any further provision for index-linked bonds.
