Despite slipping into PN17 category, China Stationery Ltd's (CSL) share price has reacted positively, as the company escaped from being suspended at the eleventh hour. The stock rose to an intra-day high of 10.5 sen before closing 1.5 sen, or 17.65%, higher than its reference price of 8.5 sen. Redeagle: For the controllling shareholder, when they price the company in bursa...they also dreaming for the company to price to NTA or above NTA.

NTA is not a good yardstic to be used as investment criteria particularly in the manufacturing companies as quoted by you. Among the reasons are:

i) The fixed asset in machinery, equipment and landbank were over price due to reasons not worthy mention here.

ii) The depreciation of fixed asset can be arranged slower than the realisable value in the quest to boost up the profit.

iii) Stock value is not aligned to the realisable value. The company can be used cost base for valuation purpose. The misvaluation of stock very often due to aging (produce during peak economy cycle when the raw materials were high) and obselete stocks.


Never never use NTA as valuation tool for the mainland companies....atuk hau xin siang cien.....yau ding ar...
