The deal is very likely to go thru'. Remember that BPlant made the offer to Dutaland to buy. BPlant would not have made the offer to buy without some degree of certainty to close the deal. The timing of completion for BPlant land sales and the timing for Duta's SPA seem perfect.
CPO, you can take it as good as done. In the last 6 months, I hear from many sources that BPlant talked to few others plantations owners to buy their plantations. They seem "very hungry" to acquire to increase their plantation size and 'invest" the proceed arising from the land disposal recently. Finally, they zero in to Duta plantations and approach Duta to buy.
The acquisition will complete next year. Next 2Q will use IPO proceed and some of the malakoff fund to pay borrowing. we can see less interest expense for next 2 quarter.
Seriously, I feel that the deal with Dutaland will be on.
I have done some calculation, sharing here, hope it can benefit you guys.
Assume you are holding 30,000 BPLANT @ RM1.60 now, so your portfolio is RM48,000.
1) You should sell 10,000 Bplant at RM1.60, then you have RM16,000.
2) Use the RM16,000 to buy Dutaland at 60sen, then you will have 26,000 Dutaland.
Assume the deal is abort, Dutand land drop to 50sen, and Bplant go up to RM1.75.
So you still have 20,000 x RM1.75, plus 26000 x RM0.50 = RM48,000 (no change)
Assume the deal is on, Dutaland increase to 75sen, and Bplant drop to RM1.40. So you still have 20,000 x RM1.40, plus 26000 x RM0.80 = RM48,8000 (gain RM800).
For me, Bplant is a dividend stock, no matter the deal is on or abort, the share price wont be fluctuate too much.
But Dutaland is different, if the deal on, the share price will anytime shoot to RM1.00. Even if it failed, maximum it drop back to RM0.45 only, because nowadays Dutaland is much much better than last time, it has cleared all its debts, and it owned many good property and land in KL and Sabah.
I meant after 30 days inspection should be able to decide to buy or decline the deal. No need to wait until the last days to announce. Why keep the deposit of RM15m with Dutaland if the deal is decline....
correct but due diligence is not something that you buy normally. Once DD is over, you need to do all the modelling to calculate whether it is viable before deciding. might as well take all the time so you are comfortable with whatever that you will decide
if the deal goes thru, i think we will be expecting bplant to have increased planting expenses over the next few yrs while revenue will not likely see a marked increase.
In the past Bplant was at times paying a higher dividend than its EPS. This was obviously too generous and they are now trying to cap the dividends within their earnings. Also, a big portion of their earnings have been gains on disposal of lands.
BPlant has sent in an OFFICIAL OFFER to buy (no more a proposal). Once Dutaland confirm acceptance of the offer, the deal is considered fixed and no way out! Now it is only about preparing the SPA for both party to sign.
Better sell Bplant before too late. Very low earning from Bplant existing operations despite broad based recovery of yield for the industry and higher CPO price. Hopeless Management.
Worst still, the windfall proceed from recent land disposal will be used to buy a poor yielding plantation with low return. BPlant will have to spent huge capital to rehabilitate the Duta's plantations and to replant mostly very old palms.
the deal result is as expected and bplant has stay steady at ipo price, many could has sold but some think it is a good deal.. the land after survey actually found better condition than what they offered to IOI. many years ago. IOI may be wanted it back. A piece of land sold RM820 millions , after so many years, it is not appreciated but been press cheaper, Now I think bplant management did a good deal after talking to their staff..i will buy if fall lower, this quarter dividend will not be affected ..next year may be...
just sold a piece of land at discounted price, Dutaland price jump, if bplant sell their land in Semenyih, Kulai, malakof and Pegerang, the price will reach the moon.
the four piece of prime lands i mentioned is only 7 % of bplant land bank, it can be sold at about 3 to 4 billions. issued capital 0nly 2.56 billions.. how about the other 93% add 30000acres just bought.. dutaland is now landless.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
