HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !! Welcome to my 2014 thread, I would like to start the thread with these words; “ You don’t have to be Great to get started, but you have to get started to be Great “ UNQUOTE. Hopefully through this thread we can learn, share and exchange ideas to be able to get started and be Great in 2014 !! I always believe in simplicity in stock market investment whether you are a FA , TA or Both. My aim is always TRY to make Three correct decisions: What to Buy, When to Buy and When to sell. Yet I still make many mistakes days in and days out. Then I realized it was OK to make mistakes at times, the important thing is to make a painful decision when we are wrong. My resolution for 2014 in stock market? I would like to be able to avoid “Indecisiveness and Regret”. Many times I have asked myself in 2013 should I buy, sell or hold? Then realized I should have bought, sold or held. 2013 has been a good year for me and I believe for many of you out there.. Then we must also realize KLSE hit the all time high in 2013. I would like to wish everyone to be successful in 2014 too !! My new format for 2014 is as follows: 1)GHLYSYS-- Av Price=$0.715( Closing=$0.72, P&L=+0.7%), Trailing Stop=$0.665. Risk= -7%. Tp1=$0.79, TP 2=0.845. (Trading Range $0.685 to $0.735). Note : Formed an engulfing Bull 2 days ago unless $0.685 is broken it should be moving upward in the short term. 2)MUHIBAH-- Av Price=$2.35( Closing=$2.28, P&L=-3%), Trailing Stop=$2.23. Risk= -5%. Tp1=$2.48, TP 2=?. (Trading Range $2.26 to $2.48). Note : Rectangle trading range of $2.26 to $2.48. 3)PERISAI-- Av Price=$1.48( Closing=$1.59, P&L= +7.4%), Trailing Stop=$1.50. Risk= 0 %. Tp1=$1.65/$1.70. TP 2=?. (Trading Range $1.53 to $1.66). Note : Breakout from $1.57 yesterday it is expected to break above $1.60 soon. I have raised my Trailing Stop to $1.50 which is higher than the purchase price to protect my capitals. 4)PERDANA-- Av Price=$1.59( Closing=$1.59, P&L= 0%), Trailing Stop=$1.50. Risk= 6%. Tp1=$1.70. TP 2=1.83. (Trading Range $1.54 to $1.66). Note: The steady upward movement has slowed down some consolidation can be expected and accumulation on any weakness for future play. 5)TAS-- Av Price=$1.12 ( Closing=$1.15, P&L= +2.6%), Trailing Stop=$1.04. Risk= 7%. Tp1=$1.26. TP 2=1.34. (Trading Range $1.10 to $1.20). Note : Sideways Movement needs to take out the Doji formed at $1.20.Expects to move higher in near term. 6)TDM-- Av Price=$0.96 ( Closing=$0.95, P&L= -1%), Trailing Stop=$0.905. Risk= 5.6%. Tp1=$1.05. TP 2=?. (Trading Range $0.94-$0.97). Note :Sideways Movement but upward momentum has increased so more rebound can be expected. Av Price-- price i bought in and it will be adjusted if i scale in. Closing -- today closing price. P&L -- Paper Profit and Loss. Trailing Stop-The cut loss or protect profit levels. It will be adjusted accordingly. Risk-The stop loss percentage if the trade moved against me. TP1 &TP2--Target Price. Using this new format if my stock is trading in the trading range I would not update the stocks every day. Happy Trading !!

Hi Profitman,
How about your view on ASIAPAC. This stock seem good after break the resistance 0.23?

TLTAN - Asiapac: Looks bullish after breaking its 0.23 resistance. It consolidated towards 0.25 after hitting a high of 0.275 and is poised for another attempt at 0.275, the new resistance level. Immediate support = 0.25. You might want to set your stop loss at 0.22/0.21. Immediate targets are 0.29 and 0.31.

miracle4faith - congrats on yr profits.

SpeedyBoy - thank you for your kind words. Actually, I am inspired by Matrix untiring efforts to answer the requests of everyone. Yeah, lets hope Liverpool can finally do it. I know, Matrix won't be too happy about it. Sorry Mat, MU will need wait another year. Ha ha ha .....

bbdd - Ideal Sun: the decision to trade will have to be yours. Do bear in mind that Monday is the last day for the OR to be traded. Also, the run up in the mother share from 0.22 to 0.425 within 4 days has been quite phenomenal.

Dear Matrixcool, I know you last sold Gadang @1.48 but I read in the other threads about its likely continued uptrend ( to 1.80?) until AGM on 24/4. You might want to rethink strategy.

jennylee1382—Hi Jenny, it has been a while since we last met and ran together.. My knee is ok and hope your family is keeping up well too..Nice to hear from you on this thread.

greenday—You also a wine lover? All the counters I bought I always update on this thread, that mean price I bought and sold etc..You can read my weekly summary tonight of all the stocks I am trading.

ProfitMan—Thanks for helping out forum investors here with your analysis. Ya, a big game for Liverpool tonight..Best of luck !!

bbdd—ya, we do talk about premier league here sometimes, especially on weekend !! Don”t worry, MU will be back once the transition period is over.Sorry to hear about your losses, hope you learnt from the mistakes and trade wisely. # Trade Well, The money will follow#.

miracle4faith –Happy to hear that you managed to lock in profits last week, congratulation.

SpeedyBoy—many thanks for your inputs and thought on this thread to help other forum investors here, appreciate it !!

i3raymond-- #Dear Matrixcool, I know you last sold Gadang @1.48 but I read in the other threads about its likely continued uptrend ( to 1.80?) until AGM on 24/4. You might want to rethink strategy#.

Thanks for your input on GADANG here, appreciate it. Everyone trades differently, I am a short term position trader (sometime also do swing Trading when the opportunity arises) and I do not intend to hold on any stocks for a long time . My strategy has been the same since day1 I started this thread last year:
1) Take my loss early if I am wrong.
2) Protect my capital
3) Lock in profits when the opportunity arises.
4) Have fun and enjoy my trades.
I am not too concerned about others target of $1.80 for GADANG, my thanks to those that bought my GADANG at $1.48 and really hope they can lock in profits at $1.80 later.
After saying all that, you see I may still re enter GADANG when I think the timing is right for the second rounds. ( Like I re enter ENGTEX ( my fifth rounds since last year), ORNA & PADINI lately after locking in my profits earlier). I respect others trading strategy, whether it is a FA, TA, or both. The most important thing is we make money so who is right/wrong or better traders play no part in our trading strategy.I do hope GADANG will bring in more profits for you and achieve your target!

Oops, time to look at some charts for my weekly summary and also for nana, carrie , brendon etc..

Have a nice weekend.

Nan88,

MASTEEL—It is trading below its immediate downtrend line at $1.12. On 10/04 there is big increased in volume with little price action, some collection is going on? The upward momentum is intact, If break above $1.05 it is expected to test its strong resistance at $1.12. The landscape for MASTEEL will be bullish if it can break out and stay above its downtrend line of $1.12. The next target will be $1.16/$1.19 (its previous high).Any weakness should find support at $1.00/$0.98. Exit if $0.98 is violated.

HUAYANG—I did the chart reading of HUAYANG on 07/02 for novice8:
#Very Bearish, stage 4 of the cycle could be over if support of $1.75/$1.74 holds.Like many stocks it is on technical rebound. If that supports holds, it could start stage 1 cycle, which we refer to Accumulation Stage. The trading range is expected to be $1.74 to $1.88. If you are thinking of bottom fishing do set the exit if $1.74 is violated. Traders like us will avoid counter like Huayang.—(07/02/2014)#
After the reading ( 2 months later),
Huayang is still at stage 1 of the cycle trading at the range of $1.74 to $1.88 which I suggested in February. The problem with Huayang is lots of traders were caught and there is plenty of overhang to be cleared. Even if it breaks $1.88 should find very strong resistance at $1.95/$2.00. For now it is confirmed at stage 1 of the cycle, $0.74 will act as a strong support and exit if $1.69 is violated.

SpeedyBoy & novice8—Thanks for the kind words. I started this thread, hopefully can help some newbies here not to make those mistakes I made before. I do make mistakes and caught in Bull Trap many times, that is why I always say TA is only a guide. A trading plan is the most important strategy in stock trading. I agree with what speedyBoy says, lots of newbies will lose all their money when thing turns bad. Now KLSE is at the highest so it is still the Huh-ah time for us.

Lunch times..See you all later..

Happy Trading..

Matrixcool, thanks for taking your valuable time to look at the charts for me. I greatly appreciate it. I really like the way you trade, with define targets and exit points. Many people made the mistake of not having exit points hence got 'trapped'. Hmm.., i am referring to myself. Hahaha.. Anyway, have good Sunday. Thanks, again.

Carrie Loh,,
TMCLIFE—Consolidation looks over after it break out with from $0.39 with volume on 10/04. It tested its immediate resistance at $0.42 but failed to clear it. It formed a “long Legged Doji” which we refer to the stock lost its sense of direction on Friday. Neither Bull/Bear won on Friday, it needs more candles to confirm the new trend. The lowest of the Doji $0.40 should provide an immediate support and $0.42 immediate resistance. As long as $0.40 is not violated it should be moving to its next target of $0.44/$0.46. A break below $0.40 may take it next trading range of $0.39 to $0.42. Exit if $0.365 is violated.

Nana88.. You are most welcome, we are here to help each other. Remember before you enter into any stock do have a trading plan that is with a Stop Loss (Exit) point when our trades go against us. The first Stop Loss is the MOST important and the hardest to execute because many can”t accept they are wrong. They will refuse to sell til the damages become too big to handle. I will look at Supermx for you later.

i3raymond—Chart wise GADANG is at stage 2 of the cycle and very bullish.A break above $1.49 will take it next target of $1.60 and beyond. ( Uncharted territory).Just in case there is a pull back the next support is at $1.37/$1.32.Any consolidation may offer buying opportunity for future play. Normally when I am on a winning trade I either sell into strength or put a Trailing Stop to protect my profits. Then that is the way I trade and many may not agree with my method.

Novice8,
CRSBLD—Stage 2 of the cycle and very Bullish. It is expected to test its previous high of $1.59 if break will enter uncharted territory with an immediate target of $1.69/$1.75. Any weakness should find immediate support at $1.52 and strong support at $1.49.Very strong support is at $1.45. Any weakness may offer opportunity to collect for future play. Exit if $1.40 is violated. Will look at Willow later for you.

SpeedyBoy
TEBRAU---Stage 1 of the new cycle ended when it breaks above $1.29 with increased volume on 10/04 to start stage 2 of the cycle which is very bullish. A break above $1.39 will take it to the next resistance of $1.43 and immediate target of $1.49 .Any pull back will find immediate support at $1.36 and strong support is at $1.32/$1.29 (Resistance is now strong support). If you are in this stock earlier, you may want to set a Trailing Stop to protect your profits just in case there is a Big Pull Back.

Happy Trading..

Due to football tonight I won’t be able to look at more charts today, so if you need any help I can only look at it for you tomorrow..

brendonyeap—I did the chart reading of KIMLUN for winwinborn on 24/03.

#KIMLUN—Stage 4 of the cycle and very bearish, we traders will avoid at all cost. Still trying to find new bottom and if you are thinking of bottom fishing do set Exit if $1.50 is violated. Any rebound should find immediate resistance at $1.60 and strong resistance at $1.67.-(24/03)#
After the reading,
KIMLUN rebound from the new low of $1.52 signaling the end of stage 4 and started its new stage 1 of the cycle. It is expected to trade from $1.66 ( its immediate downtrend line support) to $1.78. A break above the $1.78 signal breakout from what we call a FAN pattern that will turn KIMLUN to be very bullish with next target of $1.85/$1.90.Any weakness may find immediate support at $1.68/$1.66.Strong support is at $1.60/$1.58.

Nana88... It used to be my Fav counter in 2013 which brought in lots of profits to me.

SUPERMX— Very Bearish and found a new bottom at $2.46 but yet to be tested. It is under consolidation between $2.46 to $2.64. A break above $2.64 will find immediate resistance at $2.72 and strong resistance at $2.80. The problem with this stock now it has a large overhang to clear so any upward movement will invite sellers. If you are thinking of bottom fishing remember to set Exit if $2.45 is violated.

lsy7—Thanks and welcome to this thread. I did the chart reading of MPAY for ronaldo on 02/04.

MPAY---Stage 2 of the cycle and very bullish..It hit the high of $0.32 on 01/04 and start to consolidate today. Any weakness towards support of $0.27 and strong support of $0.25 offer opportunity to collect for future play.As long as it stays above its uptrend line of $0.255 it is expected to retest its immediate target of $0.325 and the next target of $0.385. A break below $0.25 spell troubles ( violated its uptrend line) and exit if $0.22 is violated.- (02/04)
After the reading,
MPAY did consolidate to $0.275 on 04/04 but formed a Hammer the same day imply consolidation is over. It rebounded the next 2 day and hit my target of $0.325 & went to the high of $0.34 on 09/04. A break above this level will try my next target of $0.385.
SpeedyBoy—You are welcome and good luck on your Tebrau.

Novice8,
WILLOW— It carry on the stage 2 of the cycle after breaking above $0.795 which is very bullish. It hit a high of $0.845 on 09/04 but formed a Shooting Star that day imply some consolidation is expected. It is under consolidation now towards immediate support of $0.795/$0.785.Strong support is at 40.76. Any weakness offer buying opportunity for future play. A break above $0.845 will take it to the immediate target of $0.90 and beyond. Note: The problem with this stock is after a good run up , it normally follows with a Big Pull Back that may shake lots of traders off.

Happy Trading..

14/04/2014 Weekly Summary

1) BORNEO OIL-- AV Price=$0.672 after Scale In (Closing=$0.665, P&L= -1.0%), Stop Loss=$0.625.
Risk= -7 %. Tp1=$0.70, TP2=$0.745. TP3=$0.83 (Exp Trading Range $0.65 to $0.60 ).
Note: Sideways movement with downward biased, as suggested, it did tested the support of $0.66/$0.655 last week. A break below this level spell trouble and it will take a longer time frame to recover. Any rebound should find immediate resistance at $0.69. A break above $0.70 signal breakout from its immediate downtrend line.

2) ENGTEX--AV Price=$1.965 (Closing=$2.07, P&L=+5.0%), Stop Loss (2)=$1.86. Risk= -5.4%. Tp1=$2.08/$2.10, TP2=$2.20/$2.23. (Exp Trading Range $2.00 to $2.12). Note: As suggested last week it hit the TP1 of $2.08/$2.10. After hitting high of $2.12 it is under healthy consolidation, After that it is expected to test TP2 of $2.20/$2.23. Any weakness will find immediate support at $2.02/$2.00 and strong support at $1.97. Any weakness offers buying opportunity for future play. I have raised my Stop Loss to $1.86 to reduce my risk to 5.4%.

3) JAYCORP-- AV Price=$0.765 (Closing=$0.78, P&L= +1.9 %), Stop Loss =$0.72, Risk= -5.8 %. Tp1=$0.825, TP2=$0.90.(Exp Trading Range $0.77to $0.825). Note :It is forming a Flagpole pattern and consolidates inside the pennant which is very Bullish, a break above the $0.80 signal breakout from the pattern to text its immediate target of $0.825 and if break will test TP2 of $0.90.downward momentum is increasing so any further correction may find immediate support at $0.77 and very strong support at $0.72

4) MUDA-- AV Price=$1.66 (Closing=$1.69, P&L=+1.8 %), Stop Loss =$1.58, Risk= -4.8 %. Tp1=1.85/$1.88, TP2=$1.96/$2.000(Exp Trading Range $1.64 to $1.76) Note : After hitting a high of $1.85 on 12/03 MUDA has been consolidating in the past 3 weeks and has found a new bottom in $1.58. It issued a BUY signal when breakout from $1.70 2 days ago. The upward momentum has increased and it is expected to test its previous high of $1.85 in the near term, if breaks will enter uncharted territory to my TP2 of $1.96/$2.00.

5)ORNA-- AV Price=$1.14 (Closing=$1.17, P&L=+2.63%), Trailing Stop =$1.10. Risk= -3.5%. Tp1=$1.29, TP2=$1.42.(Exp Trading Range $1.14 to $1.25). Note: It is still under consolidation, but the downward momentum has increased so it may retest its immediate support of $1.16/$1.14 and strong support at $1.10.To further advance it needs to break and stay above $1.22 to try my TP1 of $1.29.

6)PADINI--- AV Price=$1.96 (Closing=$2.02, P&L=+ 3%), Trailing Stop =$1.83 . Risk= -6.6%. Tp1=$2.12, TP2=$2.20/$2.23. (Exp Trading Range $1.93-$2,12) Note: Reenter PADINI at $1.96 as it is forming a symmetrical Triangle pattern with potential to breakout soon. A break above $2.04 with volume confirm a breakout (I may scale in more shares) to its immediate resistance at $2.12. A break above will take PADINI to uncharted territory to next Target of $2.20/$2.23 and beyond.Any consolidation should find immediate support at $1.98/$1.96.

7) WCT-- AV Price=$2.263 (Closing=$2.25, P&L=0 %), Stop Loss =$2.11, Risk= -6.8 %. Tp1=$2.37/$2.40, TP2=$2.50/$2.55 (Exp Trading Range $2.20-$2.30) Note : Stage 1 of the cycle is over when it broke above $2.20 with volume on 09/04. It is starting stage 2 of the cycle, which is very bullish, a break above $2.30 (Signal BUY and I may scale in more shares) will take it my TP1 of $2.37/$2.40. It has started its consolidation after failing to clear $2.30, any consolidation should find immediate support at $2.24 and strong support at $2.20 ( resistance turn support). Any weakness offer opportunities to collect for future play. WCT needs to break $2.30 with volumes as it does has a Big overhang to clear.

I started to collect PANTECH at $0.985 after it was highlighted by novice8, will carry on collecting on any weakness for future play.

These are the counters I am selling :

MAYBULK—Failure to clear the Dark Cloud of $2.19 and narrow trading range of $2.11 to $2.19. Will clear to release my capital for other stocks. ( So far cleared 30% at $2.18), Jacky please take notes.

SCOMIES—Set a new high at $1.17, achieved my TP2 of $1.15 last Friday. If break $1.17 should try my TP3 = $1.19/$1.24. Raise my Trailing Stop to $1.09 to protect my profits. ( Sold 70% of shares so far).

I am not monitoring any counter as i am on my Maximum of 7-8 stocks !!

Happy Trading..

MC still stand a good chance to win the league as its remaining games are easy. Liverpool must beat Chelsea to be counted. MC will be the beneficiary to land the trophy if Liverpool draw with or lose to Chelsea.

brendonyeap—On my weekly summary, the first column Av Price is my buying price. For WCT my Average price is $2.263..This counter need to close above $2.30 to move..

jacky187—Borneo Oil did not move as expected..It is showing some weakness chart wise. I will give it some more time or may clear to release my capital later.

On your question of “do you buy a particular stock a few cents higher if you can't get at desired price or you let it go?” --Good question.

a) I only enter a stock after analyzing the Risk/Reward ratio, every trade I am in I have worked out the 1st Most important Stop Loss level.
b) I only “Scale In” when I am right, yes I do buy at higher price when the stock move to my chart interpretation. For example PADINI if break $2.04 with volume I will add and my AV cost will increase. I only add in my Pyrimad style.

SF—sorry to hear about your personal problem, stay calm and solve it. It will be over before you realize it. We miss your analysis here. Luckily profitMan has been around to help many of us here.

I observe that several govt agencies eg EPF and KWAP are buying WCT shares, wonder whether will there be any good news?

nicholasnwh90—# L&G. It is a fundamentally sound counter but the price has been stagnant for quite some time.#

L&G—Stage 2 of the cycle and very bullish. After hitting a high of $0.545 it is under consolidation at the moment (That is why it is stagnant). It may have found the new bottom at $0.465, a break above $0.525 will take it to its strong resistance at $0.545. If break will get to its next target of $0.575 and into uncharted territory. Any further weakness should find support at $0.485/$0.465. Exit if $0.425 is violated.

brendonyeap—Thanks for sharing information on WCT. The reason I bought is it starts stage 2 of the cycle, which is very bullish.

Happy Trading…

MAYBULK—Still can”t cleared the Dark Cloud of $2.19, jacky, I sold another 20% at $2.19 (Total sold 50% now) to lock in 5.8% profits. If break $2.20 should move to my TP2 of 42.40 with strong resistance at $2.30.

PADINI—Break out of $2.04 should be testing my TP1 of $2.12 once the immediate resistance of $2.07 is taken out. I scale in another 20% at $2.05, now my Av cost is $1.976.

Carrie Loh—You are welcome.

MrGala—Hevea next support is at $1.32, please enlighten me what do you mean by testing 50% level? Thanks. It is a low risk Buy if you want to Stop Loss if $1.32 is violated. If not, the next meaningful support is at $1.23/$1.18.

Happy Trading…

50% Fibonacci retracement level, from 1.50 to 1.18, do you consider stochastic in pin-pointing possible reversal?

MrGala
OIC..Thanks for the information. I was looking at the low of $1.03 to $1.50 instead. HEVEA bought in lots of profits for me in FEB 2014 when it gives a BUY signal 0n 04/02, forming a double bottom at $1.03 and formed a Hammer that day. A strong ‘Convergence Buy Signal”. I sold mine before hitting $1.40 to lock in my profits. It is at stage 2 of the cycle and very bullish, if $1.32 stays it is most likely to retest $1.50 and beyond.

I don”t normally read too much in indicators be it stochastic or any others. I try to keep my chart reading as simple as possible as indicators can be confusing at times. Still, I know they are many TA use indicators to trade successfully.

i3raymond—Ya, I totally agree with you. Very tight trading range of $0.655 to $0.68. Unless it could break above $0.70 ( its immediate downtrend line) it will be moving sideways... My cost is $0.672 and I am still holding mine as it did not hit my Stop Loss level yet. I may give it some time if not I may clear to release my capital for other stocks.

Matrixcool, do you consult hourly charts? And if so, do you apply 200ma on hourly charts? Not sure if it really help much, but you might be surprise sometimes to see the price action near this ma. =D

I do not use hourly chart..Sound really interesting that you apply 200ma on hourly chart..How does that work? I am using Maybank Live stock so when I use hourly chart only today hours are shown. What chart program are you using ?

HEVEA—Look like support of $1.32 hold well. For short term trade may use this as my Exit point..

Happy Trading…
