RHBBANK (1066): Annualized Results

@pang72, if I buy 10,000 RHB Bank shares at RM5.67, my brokerage, stamp duties and clearing charges are as follows :---
Brokerage = RM56.70
Stamp duty = RM85.50
Clearing fees = RM17.01
Total charges = RM159.21
If I manage to sell at RN5.72 in the afternoon, total transaction costs would come up to around RM320. Still make RM180, not too bad but unlikely to be repeated everyday.

Sometimes when an opportunity arises, it is better to seize the opportunity and benefit from it. Excluding dividends, RHB Bank went up to as high as RM6.31 over the past 12 months. I would certainly sell some RHB shares should it rise to RM6.30 again before it trades ex-dividend.

I thought you just bought RHB Bank and now you want to sell it? If RHB Bank ever drops below RM5.50 again due to the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, I would commit another RM10 to 15k to buy the counter.

When investing in bank counters like Maybank, RHB Bank , Public Bank etc, one should take a long term view. I won't sell my RHB Bank shares now irrespective of whatever happens to banks in Europe and the US. RHB Bank has solid earnings since 2010, with highest eps achieved in 2014 at 79.7 sen and the lowest the following year at 24.2 sen. The average eps over the past 13 years was 58.4 sen.

Last year, they made the announcement on the 28 April. Should be about the same time this year. Then you will know the ex and payment dates of the 25 sen dividend and the closing date for the subscription of DRP shares.

Don't have to worry too much about what EPF does. It buys and sells its portfolio throughout the year, often for no apparent reason. Worry about RHB Bank's earnings and the quantum of dividends it pays.
