May be drb mulling to choose PSA...they dnt trust china way of bussines. European business more orderly n transperent..takut kena tipu kah sama cina..ha2. Before geely bid to be declare unsussecsful it better they back off first. Geely just dnt want to be declare as unsucessful bidder

Definitely they need to sell the majority share to one of them or else who would want to be under DRB management who failed to manage Proton? The issue would be what is the value of the lost making Proton. Would someone pay for large amount for it? Definitely not.

China companies are very very very rich. But when they come to doing business, they are even smarter. Look at how they bought Shell Refining Malaysia @ Rm1.92 per share. People would easily value the share at RM3-4 based NTA.

DRB will not have any choice but to sell it cheap. Lotus maybe still has some value due to its technology. But what does Proton has? Technology? The only thing would be their assembly plant.

I dont think Geely will pull out. Government would intervene. Malaysia and China relationship will ensure this is done. China would view this as goodwill for other big projects. Proton needs Geely more than they need Proton. Geely would bring in their technology, redesign all the cars and market it to China market at a cheaper price.

They need to clarify the report asap. Or else I see the DRB share price would crash. Forget about what e-commerce stuff. The news about Jack Ma shared earlier by tai ko Calvin is long way off. The main thing that driving DRB shares up has been this FSP since last year. So you better pray there would be some report to clarify this by this weekend. Or you would really need RUN like what our Tai Ko Calvin said in other shares.

@Woo John...haha no. I sold just now when I saw some heavy selling. I actually want to sell since yesterday when I see our Tai Ko sharing all kinds of link which is not related to DRB. Yet he able to link all.

Well, for those who have money and willing to wait. Do hold tight. Ignore the share market for awhile. As long as FSP alive, DRB would stay above RM1. If the deal manage to go through, then It would jump back probably at RM1.45-1.70 range depending on what kind of deal.

KUALA LUMPUR: DRB-HICOM Bhd fell in late trade today after billionaire Li Shufu reportedly said he was planning to pull Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co out of a bid for Proton Holdings Bhd.

DRB-HICOM, which owns Proton, eased 3.45 per cent or five sen to RM1.40 in active trade involving 14.38 million shares.

Bloomberg quoted Li as saying that this was because DRB-HICOM kept changing its plans.

“They keep changing, today it’s this, tomorrow’s it’s that. They haven’t decided what they want,” Li said in an interview in Beijing yesterday.

News to create fear. CEO needs to confirm such statement to the public. News as such causes panic sell and big boys with their evil intentions to grab cheap before actual positive news are out. Brace yourselves for famous words "mull, maybe, could be...." Those who entered at higher price should have holding power if they did not plan to cut loss.
