But it's good if people want to keep supporting price as they have cash and help company. But if you have limited time and funds... Avoid heart attack for 2 years.

Honestly, took ages for AA to break 80 sen.. Let see how much it can go lower..

Like I said, this is not like "caught with your pants down". We all knew this is coming...like I said current price has been factored already..

If it drops further, so be it..

I am a big fan of AirAsia and Tony but putting your money into AirAsia now is a bad investment decision. plus the coming quarter is even worst.

If it opens high, cut loss and move on.
If it dips too low at opening just hold on to it for couple of months.. theres a good fighting chance that revenue will recover next year or 2022 and you'll be rewarded handsomely.

Anyway there's no short selling right now. So i doubt it'll be that bad. Those that are bearish like myself have long dumped our holdings holdings and waiting to collect low.

Who knows it might just rally upwards :/ god knows whats happening to the market these days :p

If you're panic, chant after me... Buy low, sell high, buy low, sell high. I shall not be tempted to reallocate to glove stocks now :p goodluck bursa warriors!

KUALA LUMPUR (July 6): AirAsia Group Bhd said it has applied for bank loans in its operating countries, in order to shore up liquidity to weather the Covid-19 crisis.

Commenting on its prospects in a stock exchange filing today, the budget airline said it has also been presented with proposals to raise capital to strengthen its equity base or liquidity from a number of investment bankers and lenders.

“In addition, AirAsia has ongoing deliberations with a number of parties for joint-ventures and collaborations that may result in additional investments in specific segments of the group's business,” the group said in the filing announcing its results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2020 (1QFY20).0

AirAsia also said it would be aiming to defer payments from suppliers and lenders.

The group’s cash balances have declined to RM1.61 billion from RM2.59 billion in 4QFY19.

Meanwhile, there was an operating cash outflow of RM116.1 million, compared with an operating cash inflow of RM289 million in the corresponding three months last year.

As for the gearing level, AirAsia currently has a net gearing ratio of 3.8 times, which is up from the 2.9 times registered as of 4QFY19.

Borrowings increased to RM564.8 million, from RM428.9 million in 4QFY19.

Meanwhile, net debt increased to RM11.20 billion, from RM10.30 million in the preceding quarter.

AirAsia posted its biggest quarterly loss since listing of RM803.85 million in 1QFY20, compared with a net profit of RM96.09 million in 1QFY19.

The net loss was pinned on RM270.1 million worth of fair value losses on derivates, some RM110 million in settlement losses for fuel hedges, as well as RM243 million in additional depreciation and lease liabilities interest on operating lease aircraft.

Quarterly revenue was down 15.27% to RM2.31 billion, from RM2.73 billion a year earlier.

In a separate announcement, AirAsia said the delay in the issuance of its 1QFY20 results and its FY19 Annual Report was due to Covid-19 pandemic. AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) issued a similar announcement.

Both airlines said as the pandemic resulted in movement restrictions being applied to numerous jurisdictions since March 2020 (including Indonesia and the Philippines), their normal work systems and accessibility were disrupted, leading to a delay in finalising their 1QFY20 results and FY19 annual report.

“The company has been endeavouring to make the necessary issuances as soon as possible,” their bourse filings read.

The Edge Malaysia weekly (July 6-13 issue) reported many people were puzzled by AirAsia and AAX’s request for additional time to come up with their latest quarterly numbers, as listed issuers would already have to issue their 2QFY20 earnings results by August.

Shares of AirAsia closed 0.56% or half a sen lower at 89.5 sen today, valuing the group at RM2.99 billion. AAX shares finished 4.76% or half a sen higher at 11 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM456.3 million.

AirAsia will definitely report bad result for Q2 2020 report, current price has already priced and factored in... Every investors already know this quarter is bad and have thrown away their shares. Price has fallen from RM2 to 0.85. They expected a loss of 1.1 Billions in the Feb due to this covid-19.

The last time I checked the weather forecast for AA indicates the share price has dropped to the lowest points and has the potential to climb back above RM 1.50. The 200 Moving Average is below the candlestick which is a positive indicator. If anyone has the latest weather forecast, pleased shares. Any forecast is still a forecast..

Another positive development is the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa Malaysia) have decided to further extend the temporary suspension of short-selling to 31 December 2020. This will also give time for the Share Price to recover..

In June, the group has reported to be looking at raising capital to finance their operations due to Covid-19 Pandemic..

Like I said, this is not the first time AA has reported quarterly losses..

The huge loss was due to wrong hedging of fuel oil and depreciation. If excludes the depreciation, its loss is still manageable.air industry is a niche market.AA is well managed and when it recovers, it can fly through this temporary setback.no big deal....

Over the longer term, AmInvest Research said that the outlook for regional ports, including Malaysia, is underpinned by rising investments in the manufacturing sector that generates tremendous inbound and outbound throughput for ports as industries here operate within the global supply chain.

For the airline industry, it is expecting passenger volume for AIRASIA BHD to shrink by 35% in 2020 from the previous year, to be followed by a 25% rebound in 2021 from a low base.

But this assumes that the pandemic will have been significantly contained by then, or vaccines would have been developed and made available.

AirAsia is rated a sell with a target price of 43 sen.
