BANGKOK, 17 August 2021: Asia Aviation Plc, the major shareholder in Thai AirAsia, posted a net loss of THB1,692 million during the second quarter of 2021, compared to a net loss of THB1,141 million in the same period last year.
Results for the first half of 2021 (1H2021) saw AAV post a THB2,431 million in revenue and a net loss of THB3,556 million.
Asia Aviation Plc. and Thai AirAsia CEO, Santisuk Klongchaiya, acknowledged that AAV’s second-quarter results “remained subdued” due to external factors such as a more severe domestic Covid-19 outbreaks in Thailand than expected. He pointed out that AAV and TAA have reviewed every aspect of the operations and have taken appropriate courses of action, including strict cost management and have also sought out new sources of funds. This includes a corporate and capital restructuring plan and a request for soft loans to maintain employment from the government, which have yet to be concluded.
AA share the same fate as AAV/TAA. "including strict cost management and have also sought out new sources of funds. This includes a corporate and capital restructuring plan and a request for soft loans to maintain employment from the government, which have yet to be concluded."
very scared to hear such negative news???? ha ha ha However those who have faith and willing to think out of box, will not care about what the other ppls' said. We all have our own judgement in investing our money. We know the last quarter results won't be good. However we invest based on the vaccination ramped up process. Invest at your own risk.
As of Mar 2021, AA's liabilities were: Lease liabilities _____ RM12.5 billion (includes deferred aircraft leases, aka defaulted lease payments, of approximately RM1.8 billion) Sales in advance ___ RM908,448M Other payables ____ RM111.1M Borrowings ________ 1,136.1M
Shareholders Equity: -4,190M
The variables going forward for the few years will be: Max 40,000M ASK (assuming Carlyle Aviation, Incline, NBB, BOC Aviation, Castlelake LP etc do not 'tarik' aircraft) Cost per ASK - excluding fuel (sen) > 10 Jet Fuel Price (RM/gallon): 7 to 9
Whether the vaccination rate is 50%, 100% or 1,000% is irrelevant.
AA's shareholders equity is currently at negative RM4.19B and liabilities will just keep ballooning.
Prior years' profits were obtained through trading (buy, sell and lease back) of airplanes, underpaying pilots and crews; and low fuel prices.
With the existing plane capacity and cost variables, AA will not make money over the next five to ten years.
The immediate concern is to stay afloat.
Instead of waiting for Danajamin loans, TF & Co should just pledge their personal cash (received from prior years dividends) of almost RM1B as guarantee for loans by AA. In addition, all LTIS should be suspended for the next 5 years. These 2 actions will display unequivocal commitment by TF & Co that AA is worth saving.

Ha ha ha If you are AirAsia and u have no cash as 'believed by all the losers here" Do u still do these: 1) Teleport acquire delivereat for USD 9.8 million 2) Acquired Indonesia's Gojek business in thailand for RM208 million 3) Managed to 'fool" SK group USD 100 million financing !!! If u r doing business and u hv no cash, u won't even think of expanding or acquiring new companies> Worst still all the big banking group willl run away if u want to approach them for loan/ financing. that is the difference between a NORMAL Investor vs Smart Investors!!!! Hv fun in investing. Don't follow the normal groups. Sudies showed 80% of the normal investors lose money!!! Ha ha ha
Wonder why that banks have approved part of the RM1 billion but Danajamin hasn't approved," Mr Fernandes was quoted as saying in an interview with The Edge, referring to the government's financial guarantee insurer?
What have those businesses got to do with aviation?
If AA has money, refund the RM908,448M Sales in advance and pay the RM1.8 billion default lease payments first.
Also, stop the Danajamin loan application and rights issue.

Don't need to wonder. Just pledge own cash as collateral for the loan to AA.

I was referring to TF & Co to use their own cash as collateral instead of begging for Danajamin guarantee, Are you TF & Co?
Yes, do not need to be serious. Just wind up the bankrupt airline and focus on nasi lemak.
Just let lessor repossess the planes, don't need to be angry and remember long after being buried six feet under.
"And there's partners who have made so much money from you for 19 years, and then drop you like a hot potato. I'm going to remember that, long after I'm buried six feet under." - Tony Fernandes
TianChoi1 Ha ha ha We just invest in AA as our business decision. No need to be so serious. Pledge own cash as collateral. Hv a life !!!! Lighten up. 20/08/2021 3:07 PM
