Yes good news to Malaysia, as there ain't many choices for Singapore. They really need to look at upgrading the inter-tie between Malaysia and Singapore to allow higher power flows of up to 1,000MW. That would provide good chance to Malaysian power developers to export RE to Singapore.

Tenaga will benefit from the TPA and wheeling charges, without itself spending capex in new power plantup, as Tenaga is looking to spend RM60-80b in next few years to upgrade the power grid alone.

That's the reason I have assumed the 100MW power export to Singapore from YTL Power to continue after the 2-year trial period in end of 2025, just because that is not much option for Singapore. The recently launched ENEGEM pilot project shall add more weight to my assumption.

Watch SIPP + ytlp = Ranhill + RE = don't u think this would be the # 1 JV, chosen by SIN, to supply lucrative RE to SIN by the huge GW of 1 to 3.

Mikecyc@ Any DC in the world need time to build, unless it is moved into an
existing building. For a typical building project in Malaysia, 9~12 months is the
fastest you can get, including permit application.
The Nvidia-YTLP announcement was made in December 2023, so logic tell us that it should be
completed around December 2024.

I was informed that YTLPWR DC in Kulai will be ready in the following timeline...
100MW AI-DC for Nvidia will be delivered in 2 stages,
first by end Dec 2024 follow by March 2025.
40MW AI-DC for MS will be ready by June 2025.

Institutional fund decide price up or down...retail in this forum will never influence price not matter how you promote or shit this stock..
Big fund is taking profit now as they have make 300%. Why they don't take profit...nothing to worry if they take profit now .another group of fund will buy slowly to average down...they will never buy aggressively they never FOMO..
My prediction is 4 to 5 range for the next few weeks. Unless Nvidia drop to below 90 then ytlp will drop below 4 too..
Long term still target mcap $100b in 5 years time.
Follow the big fund to average down..buy slowly...never FOMO

Few weeks ago Nvidia insider sold Nvidia share including CEO... It is nothing wrong to sell to cash out.
Don't be panic if ytlp insider including CEO sell some share...it don't mean insider don't have faith in own company... Patient will reward big in long term...

Indeed, I think there is no exception; Singapore should tries it's best to control inflation in the country. However, buying electricity from Indonesia is still having some technical issues, as mentioned by Mikecyc.

The government announces today that electricity grid Third Party Access (TPA) will be available from September 2024 onwards, paving the way for private RE developers to negotiate directly with RE consumers or to export RE to Singapore since the export ban has been lifted.

The limitation is still the 200MW inter-tie between Malaysia and Singapore. Otherwise this will benefit all solar power developers like YTL Power, Solarvest and Tenaga. YTL Power has the competitive advantage in a ready offtaker in PowerSeraya across the straits.

I maintain the assumption that YTL Power will continue supplying 100MW of RE to Singapore beyond 2025 and be able to earn some RM200m profit a year from such initiative.
