Properties at the "Terminal Stations" might benefit a little. There is no crowd going or coming from
Kelantan/Terengganu (maybe Pas members coming for Protest Rally in KL)---ECRL is basically a Container Transhipment Route ( i will Not use it bcoz the Added Cost for Loading and unloading)--
The way I see it, terminal at East Coast will be used as Container storage yard( empty containers) for China bound shipment. How can ECRL find Biz when 80% Malaysia Cargoes are along Strait
of Melaka. Port Klang, West Port are very convenient with world class facilities

ECRL is a complete waste of Tax payer money ( however if packaged with Palm Oil export to China ( maybe as payment) ---Political Consideration for small farmers will take precedence )

Please note too under "1960 Acquisition Act"---Federal Gov can acquired Land at its convenience
Basically mean ECRL don't have acquired All your Land ---just the Portion they Need---just take 40feet of your Land facing Highway then you are "F***K" ( your Land front (facing highway) became Back and Front end Now facing the Mountain-----

@JJchan, the current government knows that the cost is too high compared to the benefit that we can get. However, the penalty is too high at about RM20bil to RM30bil to terminate the project. Therefore, they have no choice but to continue the project.

@JJ Chan, what you say about the drawbacks of the "1960 Acquisition Act" is true. However, the Southern Corridor ECRL cuts through new developments especially by Sime Property and Gamuda. Therefore, the plannings of the developments can be done with the consideration of the ECRL in mind.

Calvin sifu, u know how far has the new route deviates from TalamT site?
For development, it is not necessary to have your land right beside the new ECRL. A new road can connect to the site you want.
If the locality is suitable, it would be just as good for a big development there slightly away from the ECRL.
As long as a trunk road passes nearby, the potential of the land should not be overlooked.

Good question,

As long as ECRL is on TalamT having strategic lands in Serendah, Gombak & Sepang will benefit

Of course the benefit to TalanT will be at its best if it passes by Serendah

But still ok if it passes by N Sembilan as TalamT has Seroja Apts in Dengkil, Sepang which will be 100% completed in Sept 2019 & ready for sale by Oct 2019

As for Serendah lands there is still the expansion of PROTON CITY in Tg Malim

The main aim of reroute is to reduce cost, most probably by reducing stations and expensive tunnels.
