PETALING JAYA: Genting Bhd is expected to benefit from the recovery of its 52.7%-owned subsidiary, Genting Singapore (GenS), which is on track to deliver stronger earnings this year.

This is driven by rising tourist arrivals in Singapore, particularly from China, as well as various programmes and events aimed at boosting visitorship and spending at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) in the city-state.

Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB) Research noted GenS’ core net profit of S$460.2mil, up 41.9% year-on-year, in the first half of 2024 (1H24) was in line with its expectations, making up 53.4% of its full-year forecasts, but exceeded consensus estimates, accounting for 63.2% of full-year forecasts.

The brokerage stated GenS’ recovery trajectory remained intact and is expected to deliver improved results in 2024 as compared to last year.

Many in the past have accused ATK a fake horse-back-cannon trader. Then i posted my real trading records. For this time @mushi i have no trading records for you because there has been no trading transactions for a long time liow. I do have some taurx share purchases recently but these transactions are not done electronically that can easily cut n paste to post.

Its all in your mind @Michael. When Im talking history events like past RPTs, LKT sold huge volumes above 5.20 or some occasional negative things, perma bulls will think that Im preaching for everyone to sell. The crowd forgets things very quickly including my bullish Q1 profit forecast of rm600m before the actual Q1 result. They often will choose to retain info according to the state of their fickle mind. To set the record straight, I have never shorted a single stock of GenB. I depend on my own charting skills to trade. I think it is naive to think that posting fear mongering / super bullish posts here in i3 will influence the stock price.

US regulator files complaint against Genting Bhd, Resorts World Las Vegas for allegedly allowing suspected or proven criminals to gamble

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 — The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) in the US has accused Resorts World Las Vegas (RWLV) of catering to individuals with ties to organised crime in a complaint filed yesterday.

The NGCB’s 31-page complaint alleged that Resorts World Las Vegas LLC, and its parent company, Genting Bhd, “welcomed certain individuals with suspected or actual ties to illegal bookmaking, histories of federal felony convictions related to illegal gambling businesses, and ties to organised crime”, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The complaint said the resort allowed individuals with convictions for running illegal gambling operations, money laundering and tax-law violations to place millions of dollars in wagers.

“The culture within Resorts World created the perception, or the reality in certain instances, that Resorts World is an avenue to launder funds derived from illegal activity,” the NGCB said in its statement, as quoted by the Inside Asian Gaming (IAG) magazine.
“The NGCB investigation revealed acceptance among RWLV executives of a culture where information of suspicious or illegal activity is, at a minimum, negligently disregarded, or at worst, wilfully ignored for financial gain.”......
