Looks like business rivals of YTL have not given up so easily to tarnish the name of the group, but the real money bet was in the short selling. We are not seeing much short selling lately on YTLP and most of the short selling positions have been closed when the share price dropped towards RM3.30.

MACC was supposed to investigate on the last payment claims in the 1Bestarinet project to see if there is any corruption issue involved, and they have found nothing wrong. Now they switch to checking on data quality in the 8,000 schools? That has been checked and cleared by the parliament PAC few times. Firstly I am not sure if that is under the scope of MACC as it only involves the quality of services delivered under government contracts which come under PAC, secondly I believe YTL Comms has delivered everything required under the 1Bestarinet project based on contract specifications, nothing more nothing less, and has not earned anything from this project award.

This is seen as the last desperate move by business rivals to tarnish the name of YTL group when more mega government contracts are to be dished out in coming months.

I believe YTL will emerge unscratched from this episode.

@Permutation, FY2024 EPS is already announced to be 42.7 sen, done.

For FY2025, I am looking to revise downwards the net profit projection for YTLP by RM150-200m due to strengthening ringgit, to about RM3.6 billion or EPS of 44 sen.

For FY2026, I am still looking at net profit of RM4.7 billion or EPS of 58 sen.

That's my best guess for now.

Very strange indeed for those so call master keep raise target price, citing so call massive profit coming and yet keep ignoring factual that YTL major earning contributor is facing numerous headwind ahead, such as YTL power seraya earlier 2 year extreme super low lock in feed gas price which allow super profit margin for last 2 year have ended soon and factual that wholesale energy price have slump to 2 year lowest at around sgd 80 now + SGD exchange have tumbling to 2.5 year lowest level, which based on exchange alone eroding as much as 8% profit margin forward.

YTLPower is on track with the AI data centre development, and Nvidia has committed to deliver the necessary GPUs towards the end of 2024 for the first phase of its 50MW AI data centre which is being funded by Nvidia itself.

According to Jensen Huang, for every dollar a cloud service provider spends with Nvidia, it translates to $5 worth of rentals. The profit margin of the AI data centre is very huge (400% margin).

I believe the share price of YTLPower will break new highs once the joint venture with Nvidia on the AI Supercomputer data center project is kicked off at the end of 2024.

How much is the PAT of YTLPower from AI data centre after the joint venture project with Nvidia is kicked off at the end of 2024 ?
I believe the PAT increases here is more than enough to offset the lower earning from PowerSeraya and also the losses from the appreciation of RM.

The only concern here is from MACC which will take time to resolve.
Foreign funds will not accept the long outstanding issue of MACC because YTLPower is the international company which operates business in many countries in the world.
This will indirectly put pressure on the government to resolve this MACC case.

If the EPS of YTLPower for FY 2025 remains as 0.43.
The present share price at 3.62, the PER = 8.41.
What is the average PER of any component stock of FBMKLCI ?
Ans : > 15 times.

When the RM appreciate higher against USD, the foreign funds need more USD to buy the same amount of YTLPower share in RM term.
This action is indirectly compensate for appreciation of RM against USD.
There are 2 ways traffic here, definitely not one way traffic.
Appreciation of RM against USD is definitely a good news for KLSE as a whole.
In the super bull market in 1993, the exchange rate is 1 USD = RM 2.50.

What is the exchange rate at the beginning of 2024 ?
1 USD = RM 4.60 on 2/1/2024.
1 USD = RM 4.14 today.

Take note, before Data Center maiden profit start to kick in after Q2 2025, YTLp future profit for next 2-3 quarter will slump down significantly due to

1. Major profit contributor, Power seraya profit margin decease due to expire super low locked in 2 year feed gas end.
2. Major profit contributor, Power seraya profit exchange to RM decease by 8% due to weaken in SGD
3. Major profit contributor, Power seraya wholesale energy price is at 2 year lowest level due to ample supply or lower demand, resulted smaller profit margin in wholesale market
4. Jordan shale power plant and Indonesia power plant profit are denominated in USD, therefore translation will erode as much -14% in reporting RM earning
5. Wessex water also will report lower profit in Rm due to weaken in pound by -7%
6. YTL communication project in sabah at risk if investigation wrongdoing in IbestariNet

Above are all YTLP exiting profit division, which collectively will report much lower profit in next 2 or 3 quarter, before maiden A1 data center earning start to kick in after Q2 2025
